Toledo, just a historical precision, about something you wrote in 2005...
The Valois were never "kicked-off" by the Bourbons. They didn't have male heirs, so the nex capetian branch, the Bourbons, were called to the throne, it is the French succession system. Now, by disappearing of all male lines but them, all capetians are Bourbons. |

Napoleon's sword sold for $6.4 million - Yahoo! News
The article says the sword was sold by a family member to another family member. Does the Bonaparte family still have that kind of wealth? |

Charles Napoleon didn't qualify in his area for the second round of general elections who took place yesterday. He was candidate and got ten per cent of the ballots.

It could be one of the de Witts that purchased the sword. One of them owns a chateau.

The Princess Napoléon attended the 25th Anniversary of the French Heritage Society. The event was held at the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte, owned by Comte Patrice de Vogüé.
Here is an article about the gathering with many pictures: 25th Anniversary of the French Heritage Society at Vaux-le-Vicomte | New York Social Diary

Very classy, indeed. I never met her, but friends told me she is also very kind.
Here a photo of her (with the dukes of Anjou) on the annual fundation mass of the Invalides, on september 23d.(the photo is from Polfoto.dk) < ed - copyrighted image removed > Last edited by Warren; 11-27-2007 at 03:57 AM. Reason: image removed as it was posted in breach of copyright law. |

Sorry, I posted a photo from a Danish agency, I thought that by telling their name it would be OK.
As no direct link is avalable, you may go, to see the photo, on their homepage : http://www.polfoto.dk then write "Anjou" in the white place, then push the "sog" button. |

The French are the only ones who have the power to decide who will be the rightful king or queen if the monarchy is restored.Napoleon was a dictator but he did created himself emperor and he is apart of history.

Right you are, Madam Roayle and Next Star, stating that Napoleon was just dictator, who decided to promoted himself to be an emperor. Indeed Napoleon I was the great military leader. He tried to legitimize his dynasty by seeking a proper wife from the established reigning houses. He somewhat succeeded in doing so by marrying Marie Loiuse of Austria, but he was not an royal. If the Bonapartes ruled for two or three centuries, they would have more solid basis for claiming the French throne.

Some people believe you have to be royal or marry to become royal well Napoleon did atleast one of things and still is regarded as a non royal.Because he was a military man who was a dictator created himself emperor.Napoleon is listed as emperor of the French in most of the information I looked up on him.
