Queen Astrid of Belgium was the cousin of Queen Ingrid's father.

Astrid, Queen of Belgium, was not a sister to Queen Ingrid of Denmark. Astrid was a cousin to Queen Ingrid's father.

Countess Ingrid's parents are Princess Alexandra zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg and Count Jefferson von Pfeil.

Princess Alexandra is the daughter of Princess Benedikte of Denmark and Prince Richard zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg.

She is also the niece of Queen Margrethe of Denmark and Queen Anne Marie of Greece and the granddaughter of the late Queen Ingrid, for whom the baby is named for.

I loved Mary's look. She is simple in her attire yet she looks very elegant. She seems to have improved a lot in her dresses lately. She is really improving in many aspects. She is already cheerful and she smiles a lot. :)

But let's put the spotlight of Countess Ingrid. It's her christening.

Princess Alexandra, eldest daughter of Prince Richard and Princess Benedikte lives in Paris with her husband Count Jefferson von pfeil and son and daughter. Alexandra works for the United Nations.

Princess Nathalie, youngest daughter, is training for the summer Olympics, hoping to compete in the equestrian events for Denmark. I read a stroy some months back about how she was trying to drum up (financial) support and sponsorships.

And I think Prince Gustav works in finace, possibly in London, but I am very iffy on the location.

From the Scandinavian Royals Message Board: A few days ago at Amalienborg Princess Benedikte received a badge to mark her 40th anniversary as a member of the Danish Home Guard (see picture).

In 1999 she received the Home Guard's badge of honour.

Hendes Kongelige Højhed, Prinsesse Benedikte, modtog i formiddags Hjemmeværnets 40-års tegn.

Det skete ved en lille ceremoni på Amalienborg med deltagelse af Chefen for Hjemmeværnet, generalmajor Ulf Scheibye, og Chefen for Tjenestestedskorpset, oberstløjtnant Hans-E. Østergaard, og korpsets næstkommanderende, major Steen Schütz.

Prinsesse Benedikte søgte allerede som 18-årig optagelse i hjemmeværnet, og valgte efter grundskoleuddannelsen at gøre tjeneste i Kvindeligt Marinekorps. Korpset blev i 1989 sammenlagt i Tjenestestedskorpset, og prinsessen ønskede at blive overført til det nye korps.

I alle årene har Prinsesse Benedikte fulgt hjemmeværnet og været deltager i forskellige arrangementer. Hun modtog i 1999 Hjemmeværnets Fortjensttegn.

Syg prins Richard orker ikke mere - 02.01.04

Da lægerne ville give prins Richard af Berleburg en femte kemokur, sagde han nej. Fire udmarvende kemokure, som prins Richard gennemgik i efteråret, har tilsyneladende ikke fuldstændig helbredt ham. Hans læger anbefalede derfor, at prinsen gennemgik yderligere én kemokur – men dér sagde prins Richard stop. Han takkede nej til en sidste hård kur.
Den 69-årige prins virkede veloplagt, men lidt træt, da han kort før jul var til sit barnebarns dåb i Berleburg. Ugen forinden var prins Richard for første gang i næsten et år i Danmark for at deltage i en kongejagt i Gribskov.
– Jeg har det relativt godt – men alligevel ikke særlig godt, sagde prins Richard ved den lejlighed.
Alle, som gennemgår en kemokur, bliver voldsomt mærket af bivirkningerne. Det har prins Richard også været.
– Jeg tror, prinsen har været mest syg af symptomerne efter kemokurene, fortalte prinsesse Benediktes sekretær, Peter Lauritzen, i efteråret.
– Når prins Richard har fået tilbudt en ekstra kemokur, må det jo være fordi, man har erfaring for, at lige netop den kræftsygdom, han slås med, kræver en femte behandling. Lægerne må have ment, at en femte behandling var nødvendig, siger BILLED-BLADETs læge, Peter Qvortrup Geisling.

HRH Prince Richard are doing fine with his helth and after his last kemo he has been wery fine. The doctors has said that if he wans to stop with his kemo thens is alrigth with them,but he still has to go to a chek at the hospital.
I think that the Berleburg family are looking forward to the spring wedding her in Denmark becaus then can Richard get som air and spend som time with his big family :flower: :flower: :flower:
