At first I thought you were wrong about Felix -- that you had mixed up Felix and Nikolai, but on closer inspection I was very surprised to see Felix looking not only so grown up, but a little more like Nikolai. Felix used to have those big, chubby cheeks and much fairer hair and now he and Nikolai are starting to resemble each other and obviously he's lost the baby fat.

Cannot believe that Felix is becoming such a big boy -- I remember still when it was announced that Alexandra was pregnant with him. (Come to think of it, I remember when it was announced that Alexandra was pregnant with Nikolai, too!)

Weekend-far prins Joachim og Alexandra tog de små prinser med til Cirkus Arenas 50 års jubilæumsforestilling.

Blot et par gode stenkast fra Schackenborg Slot havde Nordens største cirkus med Berdino-familien i spidsen og Søs Fenger og Dario Campeotto som gæsteværter slået pløkkerne i jorden til denne velgørenhedsaften, hvor hele entréindtægten - cirka en kvart million kroner - går ubeskåret til Børnecancerfonden.
Og selvfølgelig skulle de små prinser ikke snydes for de farvestrålende indtryk og oplevelser, det er for børn at komme i nærkontakt med klovner, støvet savsmuld,...

...friske hestepærer og brølende elefanter. Og hvad der nu ellers hører sig til i cirkus.


Hidtil varmeste temperatur

Selv hvis der skulle være en del kold luft mellem fraskilte Joachim og Alexandra, så kunne det i hvert fald ikke mærkes. For netop Møgeltønder blev i går stedet, hvor den hidtil varmeste temperatur denne sommer blev registreret: 32 grader i skyggen viste termometret, og inde i det store cirkustelt var der så stegende hedt, at en stor del af publikum hele forestillingen igennem viftede febrilsk foran deres solskoldede næser med de indkøbte programmer i forsøget på at køle sig blot en anelse ned.

Varmen forhindrede dog ikke artisterne i at folde sig ud. Russiske sjippetovsakrobater, spændstige araberheste, 'Verdensartisterne fra Værløse' (ja, det kalder de sig altså) og den forklædte østrigske rengøringsassistent Hosi var med til at sætte højt humør hos specielt prins Nikolai, der morede sig kongeligt.

Ikke mindst under falde på halen-numrene.

Den charmerende lille storebror var også den allerførste til ivrigt at række en hånd højt i vejret, da der blev efterlyst frivillige børn blandt publikum til at deltage i løjerne i manegen.

Det blev dog ikke Nikolai, der fik sit ønske opfyldt om at blive stjerne for en aften. Den tjans var hovedsagelig lagt i hænderne på Cirkus Arena selv og cirkusdirektør Benny Berdino, som inden jubilæumsshowet blev hyldet ved en lille seance med kongelig deltagelse og med taler af kunstner Per Arnoldi og Børnecancerfondens formand, overlæge Henrik Hertz. - Glem ikke at gøgle, sagde Per Arnoldi. Og det gjorde de da heller ikke.

How many people does it take to watch two little boys?! Three nannies plus two parents?! I'm glad they're all together,but, oh man, I wish they would get their marriage straightened out and get back together.

I think that is their gardener from their Schackenborg home. Because back when it was Nikolai's fourth birthday, there were pictures taken at the family estate then and there were a few pictures of Nikolai with their gardener. He looks like the man in the above pictures. I could be wrong...so please correct me if I am. Thanks! But yes I totally agree with you Alexandria Felix is growing up so fast it seems. Time sure does fly! I guess it's only right 'cos he is going to be three next month.

I think only 2 of the above 3 are their nannies...I think the other lady in the green is PA's lady in waiting/ secretary... once again please correct me if I'm wrong. But the one thing that I have noticed is that they keep changing the nannies. Is that common amongst royal families? How do the children get accustomed to their new nannies? Don't they form attachments to their old ones or is that the reason why the nannies are changed? So that the children do not grow too attached to their nannies...say more so than they are to their parents?

I know what you mean about Felix, in fact, I did a double take too, when I saw the pics of Felix. He has just grown up so much--sudden growth spurt I agree he's looking more and more like Nikolai every day. Also, I am kinda sad to see him lose the baby fat, he just looked so adorable with his big blue eyes and his chubby cheeks--I am going to miss that. Kids just grow up so fast. I mean, you always want them to be a small chubby bundle who you can hug forever...sigh...

Me too! Suddenly Felix is all grown up and looks so much like Nikolai. but, they are both sooooo adorable. I especially like the one with Nik holding his little brother´s hand. He´s always been such a loving big brother ,at least in pics

And yes, I think that´s the gardener. I think he´s the chap you see in the pics riding the tractor with Nikolai when Nikolai was about 3.

i noticed that tooo....nikolai and felix changes their nannies...every ..say.....6 months to a year or sth.....

does anybody know exactely why do they have to change their nanies quite often?. I just wonder if it might to avoid the children to get along with only the same person which can make them attached too deep or get too much influence from the person (it just my thinking).

Yes the kids seem to enjoy the moment, lucky them to have this situation after the divorce. The 8th photo show a nice gesture of Joachim toward Alex.

I love Nikolai. He is such a character. Felix is a cutie! I still can't over the fact that Alex and Joachim have divorced... But I am glad that they are making efforts to put on a united front for the kids.
