Hi everyone!
Thank you Chris for offering to translate for members. We really appreciate it and we'll be sure to take you up on the offer!
Hi Kathy, I love your avatar. I don't think that Mary is that close to her family, and honestly, it doesn't appear that they are that close to one another in general. Of course, I could be wrong about that, so we may have to wait and see if anything surfaces about their relationships with one another. However, Mary really doesn't seem to be that interested in her family. I remember that she didn't attend the funeral of her grandmother (her father's mother). I could understand her not being that close to her grandmother, but not even attending her funeral is a bit much, IMO. I believe that Mary was actually named after her grandmother. It's just awful that she didn't attend the funeral. Someone wrote that a letter from Mary was read at the funeral, but I think that she should have attended. Even if you don't get along with all members of your immediate family, you should at least attend their funerals. It's just a sensible and humane thing to do. I don't know what her excuse was other than she was too hard up or afraid to let go of Fred for two or three days to go to her her grandmother's funeral. She wasn't working at that time or doing anything of substance, so what was her excuse?
