Is it possible to have photos for Christmas by the family? It would be nice. Summer Christmas photos!! And a thank you from me too to all Australians posters here where thanks to them we learn of places in Australia that would not know otherwise.

42 degrees C?!? Soula. - I would be half dead!

I did some reading on the geography on southern Australia and I was surprised to learn that the climate is equivalent to the Mediterranean climate. I thought it was cooler, akin to Cornwall.

Thanks Mitchell and Polyesco. :)
So they are still in Perth and the general area of Perth. Perhaps they'll fly to Hobart this weekend?
What are nibbles? Pacifiers or things to eat, like cookies.

:previous:

'Nibbles' are generally any type of small snack food that can be eaten easily and typically doesn't require cutlery (for instance, at parties there will usually be a table filled with 'nibbles' - potato chips, dips, cheese and biscuits, finger food-types).

If they are traveling with brother John and his family, that's quite a large group. Plus security and nannies/helpers and extra vehicles. I've been on a road trip with two children - I can only imagine what this is like. No doubt a lot of planning went into it, and it's good that they're being left alone for the most part.

:previous: John has two daughters, in one of the pictures we can see her siting with Mary.
Two bodyguards have been mentioned, but Im sure they do rotations. No mention of nannies so far. I don't think a 'helper" is tagging along yet. Its seems to be very low key family stuff. :flowers:

Maybe this trip is Frederik's Christmas gift to Mary: a nice, quiet, and private vacation in her homeland. And a family reunion of more than just a few days. Hope they continue to be left alone.

That's exactly what it seems to be. A nice laid-back, low key and private family trip with Mary's family :)
Nothing royal at all about this trip (except for the two bodyguards..) Just being the Donaldson family and appearing like any other family going to the local supermarkets to pick up supplies. The few people who have spotted them describes: Incognito, just like a normal, everyday couple with four kids.

I read the family last week were seen popping into the local bakery to grab a quick coffee. Mary stayed in the car with the children while Frederik and John headed inside to pick up the coffees.

They have been spotted some places, but it's polite people in the area it seems. No pictures and they are left alone. Hope they're having a wonderful time.

"Daily Mail Australia" is quoting a witness that CP Mary and family are travelling in a group of four cars - and rumoured to be heading to Albany.

an article from Woman's Day. Basically the same information we have regarding their road trip around Western Australia

and a cute letter to Mary from "Discover Tasmania" about what she can do in Tasmania ;) (makes me want to visit ;))

Well, that's really the point of the cute letter....;)
Mary would already know all these places....I really wish they would get Frederik's name correct once in a while.

I see the hunt is on, so it will soon be time for M&F to relocate.

Hope they enjoyed their stay in this part of Australia.

It also bothers me endlessly when various non-Scandinavian media outlets insist on calling them Princess Mary and Prince Frederi(c)k...

Muhler - I am half dead. Climate is very Mediterranean although it feels like we are in the middle of the Sahara Desert right now!

I got the impression that CP Mary and family would be driving across to the eastern states from Perth but they seem to be doing lots of sightseeing around Perth which is far more sensible considering the temperatures at the moment.

I wonder when they will go to Tasmania? Or maybe the rest of the family will go to Perth for Christmas...

A real holiday for the children.

CP Mary and family have been at "Dream World" today - which is on the Gold Coast in Queensland.

The Royal party again lined up in the queue.

They also visited "Whitewater World", a water-slide park - and learnt about Aboriginal culture.

They got to pat a tiger cub and cuddle the koalas before the park opened.

They left at 1.00pm with seven security staff in a convoy of four cars, and with an un-marked police escort.

A couple of the children were seen doing a selfie in the back seat of the car.

"The Courier Mail" has a report online - (can't link sorry).

Thanks Muhler and mitchell.

I wonder if the tiger cub/koala cuddle was the photo opportunity of the Oz visit?

Being done before the official opeining time of Dream World when no-one else was around - this would control other people being able to take snaps too and release them before the magazines next week.

Time will tell I guess - seems odd that it was done before opening and everyone else was there too.

:previous: Thanks, Mitchell.

Hmm, that would be pretty disappointing, Sun Lion.

I can well imagine other reasons as well.
A seven man security team, that could suggest the police perhaps expected the possibility of a crowd gathering. - You know, once one stops to look, everybody else do the same.
I'm sure Dream Word didn't mind M&F's visit at all, so they may simply have arranged for the family to cuddle the animals in peace and quiet without too much commotion.

So far the ordinary Australians have been very respectful towards M&F and their family, but such a visit where they are bound to be spotted could turn into a semi-official event.
- And finally, I'm sure the Australian police is very pleased with this being as low-key as possible. ;)

And here is the article, Sun Lion. :)

Perhaps our Australian members can tell us more about what the family tried. I'm especially interested in the Dreamworld-coreboree. - How do you explain a thing like that in an amusement park?!?

I'm more interested in Kai the tiger cub Muhler.

"Daily Mail Australia" did a nice feature on him back in September - with lots of sweet photos.

"Adorable tiger cub named Kai takes a stroll on a leash" - though he would be a bit bigger now.

I have the impression Muhler that 'Dreamworld' is no ordinary amusement park like your Danish Legoland. It sounds a bit like an Australian version of Nirvana: something for everyone, including both a nod to aboriginals with the corroboree and a tip of the hat for animal lovers, hence the tiger cubs. With the advertised 'Big Nine' rides plus Disney and Christmas tie-ins, surely no visit to Australia would be complete without the Dreamworld experience! :previous::flowers:

There are 2more cups now, born at the end of November. So perhaps they are still too young for "contact".

Thanks for posting the link ricarda.

I've had a chance to read this week's "New Idea" and "Woman's Day" magazines now, and both have double-page features about CP Mary being here in Australia.

Reading these I've noticed Princess Isabella is standing with Mary in the first photo we all saw, standing in the chocolate queue. (She has her back to the camera. This is in the bigger version of that shot.)

Gerry, Dreamworld should have you on their marketing team.

Far too much information for me to post so will just do the link thing for you:wave:

Perhaps no one is recognizing them, Dreamworld is one of the biggest drawcards for tourists on the coast and every man, woman and child would have at least 1 camera plus camera phones. Also no press release until after they move on, so I'm guessing the rest of the trip will remain private as well.
