General News about Frederik, Mary and Family Part 13: July 2014 - September 2015

however, F+M previously traveled abroad for their summer holidays (i believe they were in croatia some years ago)...

I think that was the years before the Twins were born.
The last few summers pictures have come out of the family in Denmark's beaches (doesnt mean that they dont travel abroad)

Hopefully they enjoy the time off.
Today Frederik was with the Queen for the new government, tomorrow i think there is an audience too, and with their event on Saturday, maybe this week they'll just spend it in Denmark

Our very fit Crown Prince completed this morning 'Vansbrosimningen' with an impressive time! - he completed the 3 kilometers swimning against the flow in the time: 45 minutes

And Frederik was very satisfied:
- I'm very satisfied with the time, Frederik told the Danish and Swedish media.

Frederik said he has trained in Danish sea water the last three weeks.

And he was very pleased with today's event:
- Super. It was really really good. It's a good competition. You feel safe in the water. And then it went very well with navigating among all the other participants in the dark water.

And then it was time for Frederik to hurry home to Copenhagen and his wife - where he right now arriving at an official event at the Opera with Mary.

But Frederik isn't planning any celebration because he completed the Vansbrosimningen:
- No, now I will have holiday with my family and in August the training and running begin before 'Lidingöloppet'. (The last run Frederik needs before he has completed "A Swedish Classic")

Christian and Isabella had last day of school Friday (like all other Danish school children) and now awaits 6 weeks of summer vacation before school starts again on the 10th August.

Vincent and Josephine still goes to kindergarten and can keep summer vacation a little more freely and longer. My youngest has been home the last days of last week. Sometimes it's nice to have Mom and Dad without the older siblings.

Will the twins start school this year or next?

None of them. In Denmark children go to kindergarten until they are 6 years old and then they start in school (most children when they are around 6,5 years old). So Vincent and Josephine will first start in school in August 2017

Christian started in school when he was 6 years old.
Isabella when she was 6,5 years old.

She is nice, giving the castles employees a lift home in her cargo bike. However, seeing her and Frederik with the children in the cargo bike is a very common sight in the streets of Copenhagen.

Wow, the nanny gets a free ride and Mary gets a pleasant cardio workout. Kudos for the relationship Mary has with the nanny. However, where is your cycle helmet Mary?

Hands down, head injuries are the most common result of a cycling accident and you have four kids, a loving hubby, family and in-laws.

Please tell me it's not that helmets ruin the hairdo . . .

The CFW2015 is over Denmark and started yesterday - today two happy women, Mary and good friend Ellen Hillingsøe privately visited the Malene Birger show.

Nice to see Mary and Ellen Hillingsøe have found together so well. Ellen is also a lovely woman. Moreover, I noticed Ellen and her husband and children were on holiday with Frederik, Mary and children during their holiday in Gråsten this summer.

Margrethe and Henrik is friends with Ellen Hillingsø's parents.

Yes, that is one of several examples of children of the Regent Couple's friends becoming friends as well and forming their own network.
Akin to a little pet-theory om mine. I.e. that the children of the present day royal heirs and young monarchs will in many if not most cases also become friends and forming a network in the future.

Because he wanted a lot of hits from readers who wanted to say it is a most idiotic article.
A, most uncharacteristic, humorous article.
Or whether he simply was drunk.
Whatever. His articles are now so silly, that people automatically go into defensive position whenever he writes anything about the DRF.

- The other thing he is writing about these days is about an insanely expensive handbag Mary was presented with back in 2011, I think, and which she apparently has only used once. I'll spare you the details...

some controversy going on in DK was reported by this blog on mary's crocodile birkin hermes bag. they point out that the bag, worth approximately 35000 US Dollars, is made of crocodiles who are skinned alive and using other cruel manufacturing methods. jane birkin, who the bag is named after, has requested that the bag is renamed until the bag is animal cruelty free. mary was asked about her bag during the fashion week, apparently, but declined to comment.

i think for jane birkin to request her name removed from such an iconic bag, it has got to be proven.

Animal rights activists have shown in the past how radical and untruthful they can be.
These animals are farmed specifically for the fashion industry and would be treated as a very expensive commodity. Costs a lot to farm these animals. So live skinnning would be out of the question as just plain dangerous and silly.

The croc birkin brought directly from the Hermes boutique is between 35,000 - 50,000 depending on color and size. They cost double the price brought online since they are hard to find and are in demand.

The birkin is a classic bag and I love the crocodile bags.

As far as I understand Mary was presented with the bag, apparently back in 2007, not 2011.
At present I'm unable to verify any of this.

The bag should be worth well over 100.000 DKK.

If Mary has only been seen using it once (if that is correct) then I wonder if it was a kind of loan. Just like some of the jewellery she wear from time to time.
Or perhaps she was advised not to use the bag any more? Back in 2007 she was less experienced than now - and you can hardly expect Frederik to be of much help when it comes to handbags.

I agree that Mary got the bag a long time ago (the pictures is from ages ago) but political correctness has changed since then.
Women who are looked upon as 'trend setters' or 'fashion icons' like Mary should not support publicy anything that relates to animaly cruelty, modern slavery etc once this has been pointed out.

Well in the dutch Telegraaf the bag was worth the price of a house 150.000 euro.
If it was a present it is a very expensive present and things like that tend to have a smell of bribary.
It was said that she often wears fur coats that are not political correct to wear and that she does not answer to questions about it.
She is silent like an oyster.

we don't really know if she still has the bag or not, do we?
And if it was hers in the first place. It could have been a loan.

Mary wearing fur often? When was the last time she was seen wearing fur?

Eh, it must be summer vacation and a dutch magazine lacking something to write about. She has been seen with the bag once (which was a present) back four years ago as far as I can read. She has not been seen wearing fur in several years. It is Margrethe who wears fur. And why not? Nordic countries have been wearing furs always. And I certainly think Margrethe will continue. Why bring this 4 years old indifferent stuff up?
