Written by our festival reporter Henrik Salling.
The annual Roskilde (music) Festival is very much comparable to Woodstock or Glastonbury and 80.000 people went this year and among the main attractions this year was the Rolling Stones.
And they were the ones M&F, along with some twenty friends arrived to see. Driving in a bus to Roskilde (some 40 minutes or so from Amalienborg).
Dressed casually and immediatly spotted by festival-goers and press. (*)
M&F and friends went straight for one of the temporary restaurants, Rest N'Eat, where they drank refreshments.
Holding Mary's hand Frederik explained: "We've come to hear Rolling Stones".
While Frederik have been to several music festivals, this was Mary's first.
After having enjoyed their refreshments M&F went behind the main stage to meet the Rolling Stones and afterwards Frederik was pretty delighted: "It was a huge experience. Richie, Jagger and Ronnie Wood are right here.
They are pretty damned relaxed and the Danes are so ready to recieve them. From the first accord and in the group's old tent. (**) It totally rocks".
After the concert Frederik said: "I think it was good. It was fantastic. They never die, these guys".
Mary agreed: "A unique experience. Legends. - It was a big experience to meet Mick Jagger".
The part drove back on the bus to Copenhagen late in the evening. (From a photo I can tell it was compltely dark and at this time of year that must be later than 23.30).
M&F also strolled around among the crowd at the festival, shook hands and exchanged a few words with a number of people. One of them being a Sven Houlberg, who has met Frederik once before. Judging from the swimming eyes in the photos, I'd say the good Sven had at least a couple of days of festival-mood behind him...! Frederik and Sven embraced and held hands and pressed their noses together (more likely due to a, shall we say, temporary motoric malfunction...) like the old buddies they were and eventually posing for a selfie.
Sven declared afterwards: "Frederik will be a fantastic king".
Frederik in particular mingled with people and dispenced with formal you's, using informal you's instead.
After the festival, M&F went to Tilsvilde for their summer holiday.
(*) Half the Danish press corps go to Roskilde each year, partly because it's in the middle of the Silly Season and partly to get free access to the concerts while "reporting on culture".
(**) No, I don't know what he means either.
