Even on birthdays the job must be done.

Today, Crown Prince Frederik took a break from celebrating his wife when he participated in the presentation of the Olympic flag bearer for the Danish team at the Olympic Games in 2016 in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
Copenhagen Town Hall.

The Danish flag bearer will be Caroline Wozniacki.

Telling us that Frederik's event ended at 2:30 pm so it gives Frederik great time to celebrate his better half the rest of the day and evening :)

A great little video where Frederik also is interviewed (I don't have time to translate rigth now...)
But notice how you can hear and see how confident he now is, our Crown Prince.
He is now so confident that he masters to point out which media's turn it is when they all ask him questions at the same time. I saw that in a clip on TV2 News. "Yes, TV2?" ... And when he had answered their questions and went to the next media "Yes, DR?"

Frederik looks fantastic. With a lovely smile
I have read that he has supported Caroline's tennis career since she was young so he must have been extra happy for her to get this honor.

:previous: Yes, that's a nice touch.

Forgive my ignorance but how is Australia doing in regards to winter sports?

It's very nice of Frederik to always meet and greet the Aussie teams during these events!

No doubt Australia means a lot to him as well :) F&M are super good at always supporting both countries.

:previous: Agree its always a sweet touch.
Article on Frederik meeting the Danish participants
DIF | Kronprinsen besøger olympiske talenter

"Later there was a royal visit in Dane camp, after which the four Danish athletes showed HRH Crown Prince Frederik around the 'Learn & Share area, which is a cultural and learning program for young athletes. The whole thing was rounded off with a trip to the Dining Hall.

"It is important that the athletes when they are in the fire, focusing on their competition and achievement. It is equally important that when they do not compete and coach will have the opportunity and give priority to immerse themselves in Learn & Share"said HRH Crown Prince Frederik. :flowers:

Nothing to forgive Muhler, as unless you really follow those Olympic Sports that aren't well known outside of the Olympics, then you wouldn't know and be wondering about Australia at an Olympic Winter Games/Youth Olympic Winter Games. Perfectly reasonable question IMO. :)

To answer your question...Australia, and New Zealand too, are very strong in the Freestyle Skiing World of Events both on the Jr World Cup Circuit (which is the level the Athletes at the YOWG compete at) and the World Cup Circuit. Especially in Aerials and Slopestyle Events.

Love how not only does Fredrick visit the Danish Team of course, but also makes sure the Aussies know they have the Crown Princess' support as well. Just such a great and sweet thing to do, which considering who we're talking about here, we shouldn't be surprised. :)

If it is, it seems odd he isn't sitting with Haakon and the rest of the family (its not just Ingrid Alexandra there, MM and Sverre are next to them). But it does look like it could be him.

Crown Prince Frederik is Denmark's Regent this week (21th - 27th February) :)

And today Frederik has held the Public Audience at Christiansborg where 48 citizens attended the audience with Crown Prince Frederik to thank for orders, distinctions and medals."

Indland/Kriminal » 48 i audiens hos kronprinsen » tidende.dk

(Sadly, we never gets pictures from the audiences, though.)

:previous: thank you Roskilde, at least we got an article this time :flowers::flowers:

I dont see why the DRF cant give pictures like the SRF that give pictures of their audiences and meetings.

With Frederik being regent this week, I hope the Queen enjoys her holidays abroad ;)

Well, you're not alone. We are many who don't understand why the DRF don't highligt much more of Crown Prince Frederik's work behind the scenes...

I agree! at least one picture or so ;)
saw this comment on a facebook post regarding the article of Frederik holding audiences today
"There's my husband's name . It was a great day for him, and a nice audience with the crown prince. A very pleasant prince who understand to have a nice conversation." :flowers:

As you know Frederik is to attend the opening of the Arctic Winter Games in Greenland on the 6th March.

However, there is a slight problem...
A problem that is somewhat unusual for Greenland.

- There is not enough snow.
So they are shipping in loads of snow. The organizers admits that this was a thing they didn't really plan for...:sun::snowman::igloo:

Wow Greenland with not much snow!! That is really bad. Does that mean the Polar bears will come into towns more now foraging for food.?

There is still plenty of snow in Greenland, it's just that the organizers expected there would be snow all over Greenland. - Rather than having to shovel the stuff from the hills inland.

Ironically there is a spot in the central North Atlantic that has never been recorded to be as cold as it is now. - Because of all the ice that is melting in Greenland.
The cold water is running south where it pushes the Golf Stream further south. So while the climate is getting warmer, more cold water is flowing towards Europe. So we can expect even more storms and foul weather in the years to come.

It's pretty bad for the polar bears in Greenland, because they go out on the ice to hunt for seals when they come up for air. They have little chance of catching the seals in the open water.
So because the ice is retreating the seal-population is exploding, since the polar bears can't get at them. And that again means the fish-population in the fjords is going down, because seals are ruthlessly efficient hunters.
The seals prefer to remain in the fjords, because out at sea the killer-whales are waiting - and seals ain't stupid! So ice-free fjords means lots of seals, which again means few fish, and that eventually leads to starving seals.
An additional problem is that seal-meat is not sold much outside the Arctic and seal-skin is something that can really get animal-conservationist to jump up from the chairs, because seals are cute and have big dark eyes... And that means hunting for seals is going down.
So nature is going to reduce the number of seals in a very brutal way over the coming years.

Tomorrow Frederik and Haakon will be at the race in Norway
Kongelig duell i Birken - Kongehuset - VG

"Birken is a cross-country for the width, but it is clear that there is extra fun that two future heads of State as Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Prince Frederik compete. It is very positive, there are many who look up to them-and it is of great importance that they find it interesting to participate in Birken, said Gunnar Ellevold, General Manager of Birken to VG.*"

BB has more. Kronprins Frederik og kronprins Haakon klar til hidsig fjeld-duel | BILLED-BLADET

Of course Frederik will thrash, wipe out and run in circles around Haakon.

Unless, Frederik in order not to humiliate Haakon, will be merciful and graciously allow Haakon to "do better". But of course we know better, right Polyesco? ;)

BTW Polyesco, it will be a tremendous help to your Frederik if you for ten minutes each hour while the race is on, sit down in a lotus-position (preferably on a dinner table for better energy-projection) and think positive thoughts, while chanting "Um-pa-pa". - No matter where you are. It works, believe me. ;):D

Already i feel sorry for Haakon but I believe that Frederick will also show mercy!

I think Frederik is doing just that ;)...Haakon was in the lead the last time I saw. I don't think this is meant to be a competition between Norway and Denmark. The race is preparation for the even longer Arctic Circle Race in Greenland. And how can a Norwegian lose to a Dane in skiing..? Frederik hardly ever has snow to train on...

Please Polyesco, do provide photos of your energy-projection and the Um-pa-pa! Thanks in advance.

This is in the wrong thread, BTW, it's general news, not current events.
And it's Frederik. Without the c.

.

I hear the reason why Haakon is skiing like a man possessed is that if he loses Frederik is allowed to burn his beloved shoes. :voodoo::eek::D

So if any more of you would like to join Polyesco... ;)

Me sure i'm by side in Polyesco!!

BB informs us that despite of your efforts... Haakon, who is younger, taller, know the track and is on home-turf was graciously allowed to complete first of the two.
Kronprins Haakon hurtigere end kronprins Frederik | BILLED-BLADET

However, the snow was heavy so neither gentlemen completed in the allotted time for getting a badge.
Haakon completed in 4h 10m 10s, while Frederik who was in a category for the slightly elderly completed in 5h 5m 5s.

- Polyesco and Eya, I'm not at all pleased with you. :ermm: Now Haakon gets to wear his one pair of shoes for at least another year. :argh:
