Paty, it is a church organisation, Kirkens Korshær, which distributes Christmas gifts for those who need it (along the lines of the Salvation Army I suppose). This took place i 'nordvestkvarteret' of Copenhagen.

Seems that Frederik volunteered as a nanny while parents signed up for their relief :flowers:

Hi everyone, I am relatively new at this also. From an Australian perspective I think it is very cool for the crown prince to have a go on stage in front of many many fans of the band. It was good to see him let his hair down so to speak and enjoy himself at the request of a band member. I imagine it would have been nerve racking to begin with. Good on him for giving his best.
regards Tarlita

Today, Frederik attended Årets Sports show presented by Denmark's Idræts Forbund (Sports Association) which was held at the Messecenter Herning.

Photos are limited, but you can view three of them here via Polfoto.

Here are a few more pictures (anp) from the event. Frederik usually doesnt seem to happy, but yesterday he seemed in high spirits which was really nice to see. I also thouhgthis suit was well tailored.

He does look very happy as well as being in a good mood.:) Here iis a short clip of Frederik in Herning.

DRWs is reporting, via their sources such as Jyllands Posten, more about Frederik's latest event, Årets Sports show, that happened several days ago.

Yes, though I never had the thought myselfe - you are right. And not only by looks also by behavior:flowers:

According to media here, Frederik has been invited - and accepted - to greet the Danish male handball team who yesterday won the European championship in Norway. Right now, they are preparing a reception at the City Hall of Copenhagen with live coverage by TV2.

Is there a tv link?

Seems to be on TV2 Sputnik (TV 2 Sputnik) - but it requires registration and a fee...

Frederik arrived a couple of minutes ago, waived a couple of times and entered the city hall building; the handball team has just arrived and is being greeted by thousands of well-wishers on the city hall square.

Thank you Paty :flowers: - its a BIG day for all handball lovers in the country, I can tell you ;)

It´s the handball a big sport in Denmark?

VERY! It's big in all Scandinavia - and most of Northern Europe. Spain as well as you know :flowers: Played it myself til my mid-20s...

:flowers:OH! I didn´t know that that handball was so popular in the Scandinavian countries.

Spain was Subchampion of Europa but unfortunately  we were eliminated against Sweden 27-26 :bang: in the last minute!!!

Congratulations again:flowers:

Thanks :flowers:

Frederik did not give a speech as such but greeted each player; he has just left the city hall and was interviewed shortly by the journalist from TV2. He said among other things that last night he had been 'fighting' with his son - whether they were going to watch cartoons or the handball finals - and that his son did not win this time!

Congrats to Denmark for their win.:flowers:

Userdane, can handball be compared to the NBA Finals, the Superbowl, and/or the World Series (baseball) in Denmark? Is it that big?

Thank you GT:flowers:
Handball is big here as well as in the rest of Scandinavia - even though the Danish handball federation is worried about a somewhat declining membership (but this win will undoubtedly boost it). The most important sport after football I'd say; when I was a child living in the country, there was hardly any swimming facilities and very few other sports facilities - but you could almost always find a place to play football or handball :)

The handball team was today treated to the same reception by 'official Denmark' as the Danish footballers after their surprising victory at the European Football Championship in 1992 - only the handballers got to shake hands with a royal as well ;)

And like the footballers in 1992 - on their flight home to Denmark they were escorted by two F16 fighter jets.

Thank you Paty :flowers: Really nice pictures - especially the last two ones

Poor Frederik it seems we forgot about him, so here's a head's up as what he will be doing for the next couple of days:

He is still Regent, which will end tonight. After that it's back to Miami for the Crown Prince. He'll participate in another sailing race from March 3-9.

Prior to that Frederik participated in the 350th Anniversary of the Rosklide Peace Treaty. DRWs has the full report so click the link to see what actually happened.

For more information click the DRF calender for March 2008, which can be found in the Royal House of Denmark sub-section.
