I hope you are right, Roskilde, that the CPC will take a danish tour with Dannebrog and all 4 children this year :)

Alas, I don't think so.
The Regent Couple plans to visit the Faeroe Islands and Greenland this summer. - But of course if the RC couple get sick or are not up to the task then M&F may have to step in.
It would be nice to see M&F and their children in Faeroese national costumes.

You're right, but maybe both can be done or is it too much to hope for? The Regent Couple usually take on their summer cruises in June, while F&M usually first take on their summer cruises around in Denmark in August.

I wasn't aware that Margrethe and Henrik are due to visit the Faroe Islands this year. If Mary and Frederik have to step in I also think it would be great to see their children attend as well, wearing national costumes like they did for Greenland.

Has anyone from the DRF visited Iceland in recent years? Margrethe has an Icelandic middle name but I think that's because Denmark ruled over Iceland when she was born.

I dont mind that pictures were from the late Summer, at least they were new ones. And it was a really special trip, I want to see one of Isabella for her birthday. Plus we recently saw the twins in Christmas, they still look the same lol.

The pictures were really wonderful, you can tell some parts of their personalities.
Its great that they reuse some of the clothes from their siblings, very normal in my family. I will also like to point out that they have inherited Frederik's love for reddish pants : D

it was nice to see some of the inside of the Danneborg too

I just think it would've been nice to see photos in a different setting, but I guess that's just me. It's not that I'm tired of seeing photos from Greenland, because I do love seeing them, but as I'd said in my previous post, since the family's Christmas card was also from Greenland it would've been nice to see something new. But I do agree, at least they're releasing unseen photos from Greenland and not ones we've already seen.

I also think it's nice that Vincent and Josephine are wearing old clothes from Christian and Isabella. This happens all the time in families so I don't have a problem with it. My old clothes from when I was a baby, toddler and child have been passed down to relatives and children of my mother's friends. In the Swedish Royal Family, Estelle and Leonore wear old clothes from Madeleine and Victoria.

The indoor photos are from the inside of Dannebrog :)

Thank you for answering my question. :flowers: Did Frederik, Mary and children stay on the Dannebrog throughout the trip or in a hotel/other type of accommodation?

The DRF always stays at Dannebrog when they are on cruise. One half of the ship are for the RF and the other half for the personnel. I can´t remember if it´s the front or back half that´s for the RF :)

So when the DRF are at sea, then Dannebrog is their home :flowers:

The birthday pictures are spectacular and I'm so stoked that we got more pictures than last year.

I'm 100% with you. I too hope they will use Greenland pictures for Isabella's birthday – particularly because she received the beautiful East Greenlandic kalaallisuut. They could even use Greenland pictures again for Christian's birthday for all I care. I loved that visit :D

The last state visit to Iceland was back in 1973 as one of QMII's introductory visits. As for official visits, QMII visited Iceland in 2013 to celebrate the 350th anniversary of Árni Magnússon and Frederik and Mary visited Iceland in 2008.

The aft part.
As a thumbrule aft of the funnel is for the DRF, forward is for the crew.

Summary of article in Billed Bladet #3, 2015.
Written by the omnipresent Ulrik Ulriksen.

Josephine and Vincent's birthday Thursday was celebrated at home at Amalienborg.
Farmor Margrethe was the first to arrive, right after lunch and she spend a couple of hours with her grandchildren and left again around 14.30.

Half an hour later the guests started to arrive. Among them were Joachim and our Marie whom arrived in a car with Athena and bette Henrik in the backseat.
Joachim rolled down the window and said "Goddag = good day = polite/formal greeting" to BB's photographer.
The other guests were:
Caroline and Michael Ahlefeld, with their children Iselin and Julius. - They had problems with the intercom at the gate and stood for a little while in front of the closed gate, until Joachim and Marie came to the rescue in their car. Joachim produced a card and all could get in.
Christian Levin and Sofie Glahn with their Leonora and Peter.
Helle and Otto Reedtz-Thott with their Ludvig, Holger and Eloise.
Michael and Rikke Juel Brandt with three children.
Søren Bredevig with family. Søren Bredevig know Frederik form their trek with the Sirius Patrol in Greenland in 2000.
Peter and Caroline Heering with daughters.

Christian and Isabella came home early from school that day, so they were also present when grandmother Margrethe was there.

:previous: Yep, they are from Vincent and Josephine's birthday. Similar pics are shown in BB this week.

Oh I hope they will use Greenland pictures for Bella too. The Greenland pictures from Franne Voigt are wonderful. I have a feeling that one of F&M's children when they grow up (maybe Minik and Ivalo) will visit Greenland for a longer period.

:previous: Not only that, but I'm sure I have seen a picture of Christian wearing the same gray sweater that Isabella is pictured in. I wonder if Josephine's is the one with stars on the sleeves that we saw in the Greenland pictures. I think Mary dresses her children very nicely, and there's nothing wrong with reusing clothes from older siblings.

Yes also Christian has used the sweater :flowers: The sweater is btw from Crown Princess Marie-Chantal's children collection.

Thanks for posting.

I know, I am a little late for the birthday party but I have to say what lovely photos. I like that they were taken on the Dannebrog and from Greenland. The twins have such happy and sweet little faces. with a real sparkle in their eyes. My favourite photo, the one of them together as someone said they appear to be planning their next adventure.

Will there be any special comming of age cermony for Christian when he turn 18?

It will of course depend a lot on how Frederik X and queen Mary will continue the traditions.
But the present traditions will suggest that it will be his first official flagday. And there will probably be plenty of portraits and interviews with him around his birthday.
He will ride in a carriage escorted by the guards hussars, with his parents (if QMII is still around she will probably leave center stage to Christian and his family) to Christiansborg, where he will attend his first State Council after having signed a pledge to obey the Constitution and that also means that he from then on can act as Rigsforstander (Regent if QMII is no more).
He will also appear on the balcony at Amalienborg and perhaps there will be a televised party in the evening.

I don't think Henrik and Margrethe would agree!! ;) Christian will be 10 years old this year, 8 years later QM will only be 83 and might still be alive = Queen with her prince consort by her side :p

Were there cermonies for frederik? When he turned 18?

There were indeed. And here are three pics from Frederik's eighteenth birthday:
First a very shy Frederik on the balcony at Amalienborg: https://app.box.com/s/zh00qblkgaer2bgzn3yr46eu7mpug1p2
And here posing at his first State Council at Christiansborg: https://app.box.com/s/8dpq0rltmqj9xut28uvznfc1mig7ff78
And at the gala dinner in the evening, where he gave his first speech in public - and was very nervous: https://app.box.com/s/a0wuqeb95s6l386jc8nn0jsbp3gsgv9o
And here as a newly graduated high-school student later that year (they have a thing about tongues in that family): https://app.box.com/s/pj98iohsla6h1qis6j4dhrr1bxrxfnie

How adorable! Is this just a ball he lost awhile ago?...The writing is a young child's.

Yes the ball has most likely disappeared in a hedge a few years ago, maybe Christian now will gets his soccer ball again?

The bite marks very likely belongs to dear Ziggy
Looks like Christian uses his second name Valdemar in school - not surprising after Christian is a very popular name among Danish children which mean they all have to add a extra name.

I don't think Fred goes for all the hoopla, personally. If he is at the helm by then, it might be less.

I also think Fred did not like all of that attention - if Christian is shy or nervous, I think Fred is much more in tune with his kids' needs. I don't think he will force a very nervous kid to give a speech.

JMHO, of course, I think Fred and Mary approach parenting and the monarchy differently than his parents.

How adorable  Christian Valdemar also sounds very regal – a perfect fit for a future king.

I wonder if Isabella uses Henrietta in school like Christian uses Valdemar because, good grief, there are a lot of tiny Isabellas around nowadays

Summary of a Q&A in Billed Bladet #12, 2015.

Where a Karin Kristiansen would like to know whether Christian has an iPad.
Jon Bloch Skipper responds that he sure has, or at least Christian has access to an iPad. That was disclosed by Bella last year in Switzerland, where she told the BB reporter Marianne singer that when Christian wasn't skiing, he was playing on the iPad.
So, M&F's children are not that different from other children in that respect either.

Today it's Isabella's birthday :daneflag2: Already 8 years old! Let's hope the Royal Court publishes new pictures - I hope - we get some of her from Greenland in her beautiful Greenlandic national costume. Happy birthday, Bella.

She will very likely be awakened with birthday songs and gifts, then driving to school and share out a cake to her classmates and then be celebrated by family and friends when she gets home. Guessing granddad John Donaldson has stayed in Denmark to her birthday.

While we wait here one of my absolute favorite portraits of her:

I do hope for photos - we did get some when Prince Christian turned 8, so my hopes are starting to rise :) :) :)

Happy birthday Princess Isabella! | Royalista

While waiting for any official pics, here are some from Royalista.
Notice the one with Bella tapping her fingers in sync with the music on the balcony at Amalienborg on QMII's birthday.

BB also has a gallery: http://www.billedbladet.dk/kongelige/danmark/gallery-galleri-prinsesse-isabella#slide-0

Notice pic #21, where Bella sticks out her hand, presumably to shake hands with someone. While mor Mary keeps a vigilant eye on what is going on.

Pic #35: A good grief?
