Prince Antonio gave a video interview, last saturday, to Causa Imperial, the major Fabook monarchist page, with over 10.000 likes.

https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v...type=2&theater

As it was a short interview, I can provide a translation later. His Royal Highness talke about how the monarchist can preserve Brazilian monarchical and Christian values and about how the monarchist movement is becoming popular among young people.

A month has already passed since the wedding of Princess Amélia and James Spearman.

I can't believe Her Royal Highness is already thirty years old and married, I remember when she was just a little girl and the Imperial Family attended the special sessions held every year at Rio de Janeiro Câmara City Council to celebrate the Head of the Imperial House's birthday. Then I was just a teenager accompanying my parent.

Gosh, time flies and I'm really getting old.

Anyway, to mark the occasion, Causa Imperial published a beautiful picture of the couple and a very nice text:

Point de Vue has dedicated six pages of it's most recent edition to the wedding of Princess Amélia of Orleans-Braganza and James Spearman.

In the pictures, we can see many members of the Imperial Family of Brazil and the House of Orleans-Braganza, the Princely House of Ligne and other European Royals, like Princess Maria Laura of Belgium and Princesses Anunciata and Astrid of Liechtenstein.

Interviews with the family of Prince Antonio

During the 24th Monarchist Meeting of Rio de Janeiro (which took place on September 6th), Causa Imperial, the main source of brazilian monarchist news and propaganda on Internet, interviewed Prince Antonio, Princess Christine, Prince Rafael and Princess Maria Gabriela.

Prince Antonio talked about how the monarchists must act in order to preserve the monarchical and Christian values of Brazil, that are threatened by the country's radical left wing.

https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v...type=2&theater

Princess Christine (neé Princess of Ligne, born in Belgium and a first-cousin of The Grand Duke of Luxembourg) talked about the examples the Brazilian Monarchy, if restored, could take from the European Monarchies.

https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v...type=2&theater

Prince Rafael talked about his impressions of the current Monarchist Movement in Brazil (which is getting strong) and how he's in getting prepared to eventually assume the Headship of the Imperial House of Brazil and possibly the Headship of the State.

https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v...type=2&theater

Princess Maria Gabriela talked about the example left by her late paternal grandmother, The Princess Mother of Brazil (neé Princess Maria of Bavaria; 1914-2011) and how she sees her role as a Princess of Brazil.

Out of curiosity: does he consider president Rousseff as radical left? The election campaign has been rather pollarising from what I hear and read from several Brazilian friends.

Thanks for the update btw! Princess Christine looks very graceful. Does she have an accent while speaking Portuguese?

You're welcome, Marengo.

He certainly does consider her radical left (not as radical as one of the other candidates, Luciana Genro, from PSOL, but still). But I agree with the Prince. Rousseff has a handfull of dictators as her allies. The majority of the monarchists I know voted for Senator Neves (as half of country did).

And yes, Princess Christine does have an accent, but she speaks Portuguese very well. Any portuguese speaker would be able to understand her.

On the 13th, Prince Antonio and Princess Christine were present at a diner in honor of Titia Vellenga - representative of The European Fine Art Fair in Brazil. The diner took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Afonso Assis, in São Conrado, Rio de Janeiro. Their Royal Highnesses went accompanied by their youngest daughter, Princess Maria Gabriela, and their niece, Princess Alix of Ligne.

Also present were Princess Maritza of Orleans-Braganza - the wife of Prince Alberto of Orleans-Braganza, younger brother of Prince Luiz, Head of the Imperial House of Brazil - and Prince João Henrique of Orleans-Braganza, who went with his morganatic wife, Mrs. Claudia de Orleans e Bragança.

There's nothing wrong with your eyes, Princess Alix does have a huge scar on her arm.

It's a burn scar, but I don't know how she got it. If you google Alix de Ligne, you'll be able to see it better.

About Prince Rafael

I forgot to post this, but I think it contribute to the discussion we were recently having about the equal marriages of the Imperial Family and suitable brides for Prince Rafael.

Recently the official facebook page of the Imperial House said the Prince feels he's still young to get married and he's also establishing himself at his work field - production engineering.

The Imperial House also said Prince Rafael knows a lot of princesses (as he's related to many of them) and is totally willing to fulfill his obligation of marrying equally. According to the Imperial House, when the Prince feel he's ready to get married, the monarchists will have a reason to celebrate.

-------

Well, let's hope he'll be able to find a young girl he loves to build a family with him.

Thank you, Marengo!

Great pictures. Prince Antonio and Princess Christine are a wonderful couple, and I'm sure they'd do just fine as Emperor and Empress of Brazil.

For the first time ever, Prince Antonio (who is a renowed aquarellist) painted a portrait of his great-great-grandfather, Emperor Pedro II of Brazil (1825-1891). His Royal Higness do not have the habit of painting people, as he prefers to paint landscapes, but he once painted a portrait of his youngest daughter, Princess Maria Gabriela.

The portrait of Emperor Pedro II:

Prince Antonio has held exhibitions of his watercolours in many Brazilian and European cities.

Other works by His Royal Highness:
