Princess Agnes died in 1991 and Princess Theresia and Princess maria-Anna both died in 2000.
 
Said that the Hofburg in Vienna (The Presidents Residence) didn´t react on the death of the Archduchesses!

I am sad to have to say this but did you really think they would now? After all they would be acknowledging a wrong committed by the founding of their very state.
 
I watched the youtube clip of her wedding to Otto on the blog page - wowsers was that a long, and wide train! Bigger than Princess Diana's or not?

I think the idea to be buried next to her parents at thefamily vault perfect. In Vienna there is no room for the Archiduchesses and 3 sons of Emperor Charles and Empress Zita are still alive , Otto , Felix and Rodolphe . They are all in the 90 ties.
 
I've never thought that Otto and Regina would be buried in the Kapuzinergruft, but in the new crypt in Muri, Switzerland, where are already buried Archduke Robert, Archduchess Xenia, the first wife of Rudolph, and their son Johannes, and Archduchess Anna Eugenie, the wife of Felix.
So I think that also Felix and Rudolph will be buried in Muri.
By the way, in the Kapuzinergruft there are at least three stone bases ready for at least three more Archdukes, as you can see in the pictures in this site; one of them is next to Archduke Carl Ludwig's grave, and I guess will be occupied by Archduchess Yolande.
 
Could also be that the solution with the Veste Heldburg is only temporär. One of the Newspaper Articles stated this and that her remains could transferred to Vienna at a later point (possible when Otto dies).
 
Yes, it makes sense...it would be "strange" if Otto, one of the most important members of the Imperial Family, head of the Family for 85 years, will be buried in the grave of his parents in law.
And maybe Archduchess Regina will be buried in Veste Heldburg in order to celebrate her funeral in a short time; I mean, Archduke Carl Ludwig's funeral was celebrated 32 days after his death; maybe due to the bureaucracy, to get the necessary permission to bury him in the Kapuzinergruft? Maybe because they needed time to prepare the crypt and his grave?
I don't know the reason of this large period of time from his death to his funeral; but if it was due to something unavoidable for bury him in the Kapuzinergruft, it's also possible that Archduke Otto and his children have decided for the temporary burial in order to cope with the bureaucracy or whatever else is with calm and less pressures.

I think in Carl Ludwig's case it had also to that he died short before Christmas. So the4y needed more time. When Empress Zita died her funeralwas about 2 1/2 weeks after her death. and as the places at the Kapuzinergruft are already prepared.
 
Very sad news about the passing of the Archduchess Regina. She must have lived an interesting life.

The Requiem for Archduchess Regina was held today at the St. Pius church at Pöcking. According to Reports on the bavarian Radio Archduke Otto was not present as he is very weakened after the death of his wife.

Thanks Steven , I wonder of the Archidukes Felix and Rodolphe were there such the Archiduchesses Yolande and Margartha, her brothers and sisters in law. It is so cold to-day.

Have just seen a small report on TV. Yolande, Rudolf and Anna Gabriela where present. Rudolf in a wheelchair. Dont know about Margherita and Felix. Afterall Felix lives in Mexico and is already 93.

Yes Prince Rasso was there. Also Prince Alexander of Schaumbrug-Lippe, Duke Friedrich of Württemberg, the Margravine of Baden, hereditary Coubnt Erich of Waldburg-Zeil. But Lorenz attended alone without Astrid.
 
I was deeply impressed by the faithfulness of the old militaries and people attending the religious office and may imagine how more impressing archiduke's Otto funerals will be.

Was Georg Friedrich of Prussia there? No British royalty attended, which is par for the course I guess.
 
Both Prince Georg Friedrich of Prussia and his mother, Duchess Donata of Oldenburg, were listed to attend the funeral; but I didn't see any picture of them; moreover the lists were unofficial, and several royals listed actually were not present (like Princess Astrid of Belgium: I've read that she would have been present as representative of the Belgian Royal Family, but actually she didn't attend).
I don't think any member of the British Royal Family attended, but to be honest it doesn't surprise me...

What about Saxe-Meiningen Family and Liechtenstein Family? Were some members of these families at the funeral? For Liechtenstein, I hope at least some of the nephews of Archduke Otto, the children of his sister Elisabeth.

I'm still sad about the death of the Duchess. It looked like it was a nice funeral.
