Lucys, I think she has looked "good" in the past but I do think I've never seen her more "contented" looking -- especially around Cristina and Felipe and their families. I saw her in person the day she and Juan Carlos were reinstated on the throne and I thought she was absolutely beautiful -- much, much prettier than photos of her.
"Contented" is a better description. And don't misunderstand, I have always found her a beautiful woman, but what I most like about her is her innate dignity, completely free of any airs of grandeur.

Yes, I agree completely...I admire her.

Do you know when this prize giving ceremony will take place? I know that today, but when? I wander if F&L will attend and where they spent time after leaving Palma on Wednesday? It's quite certain, that they didn't go to Asturias, so maybe they go to the other, not so popular and crowded Balearic Islands, like Minorca or Formentera?

The delivery of trophies was today at 9 p.m., but it was not known if the Princes were going to come or not. The journalists were those who said that on Wednesday they went away of Palm and that they had gone to Asturias. To Asturias they have not gone, so it seems to me that only they know where they are. The journalists do not know very much.

Kings preside at delivery of trophies the XXIVth Copa del Rey
The Kings have presided this night in the Castle of Bellver at the act of delivery of trophies to the winning ships in the Glass XXIV of the King of Candle, who from Monday has been disputed in the bay of Palm.
(...)
The Princes of Asturias left Palm on Wednesday, with I destine to an unknown place, on which the House of the King supports the most absolute silence, motivate for which they were not this night in the delivery of trophies.
(...)
The Duchess of Palm gathered the hand trophy of the King, accompanied by all her companions of crew, and with the presence between the public of her husband, Iñaki Urdangarín, and of her three children males: Juan, Pablo and Miguel.

They didn't attend... pity... I just hope they are spending awesome time now, without any papparazzi.

I found some wonderful pics of the family from yesterday (I believe). There a couple of excellent close-up shots of Christina's adorable boys, of whom Miguel is my absolute favorite.

How absolutely wonderful that two people that are so closely monitored by the press have managed to escape. Hope F & L are having a wonderful time.

So, article about Letzia and Felipe from el-mundo's suplement "Cronica", written by Jaime Penafel. I hate this guy, am I alone?
http://www.elmundo.es/suplementos/cronica/2005/512/1123365615.html
No, you're not alone, La Chica...
Here's the translation:

Sailing has always been and is the favourite sport of the Royal Family. Doña Sofía was almost an Olympic in Rome, next to her brother, Konstantin. Don Juan Carlos also wanted to participate in the Olympics and the Prince competed in Barcelona. The most appraised jewels of the Spanish heir are therefore the Queen and the Aifos (no wonder that it bears the name of his mother: aifos=sofia). On board of successive boats, he has competed uninterruptedly throughout 23 years… until "la jefa" arrived, and started commanding. I have no doubts that the consort is the one who commands, but everyday more and more... so much, to the point of impeding her enamoured husband to sail, for the first time in his life, in the regattas of the Copa that bears the name of his father, the King… An unforgiving fault, independently of the harm caused to Antonio and Enrique Puig, who invested, as sponsors, one million euros to maintain this regatta. All this seems not to be taken into account, neither by Letizia nor by Felipe, who only cares about satisfying her exigencies.

The reasons that have been evoked are "the next paternity of Don Felipe" (Almudena Martinez Forner, ABC journalist and nothing suspicious, dixit). I thought, until now, that Letizia was the one who was pregnant. I suppose then the exigency of Letizia, prohibiting Felipe to participate in the most important nautical competition of the year, can be due to a pregnant woman's illness, to a whim, a tyranny? There is no doubt that Letizia has become not only a tyrant but also a spoiled. Not so bad that last Tuesday they decided to present the reporters with their presence, coming to sail, in a boat piloted by Felipe. The journalists say that, when the boat of the couple passed near the CAM, the sailboat in which he should have competed, the Prince was much touched and made gestures of resignation to his companions, as saying to them "look at me, of licence, by conjugal solidarity".
I ask, without malicious intention: when Letizia gives birth, will Felipe take a licence of maternity, as did his colleague (and what colleague), the Norwegian heir Haakon? I am much afraid.

The quarrel of the courtesan civil employee
La Zarzuela’s press department has dedicated itself to throw quarrels to my companions, among them Maria Eugenia Yagüe, of El Mundo, for referring to the pregnancy of Letizia as "complicated", due to the vomits and nauseas. If the complaint comes from her, that’s bad. If this initiative comes from the civil employees of the department, that’s worse. Does speaking of the symptoms of a pregnant woman reduce the future mother? Or is it that Letizia, aside from being who she is, by marriage, has also become a glorious body, like the one of the Virgin Mary, whose pregnancy is like a sun ray that crosses the crystal of her entrails, without breaking them, nor staining them with vulgar vomits? Carmen Rigalt said to me that, to not have problems, she will end up writing in humour code, like in the worse years of the Franco’s dictatorship. I refuse it, because the subject is very serious.

CHSSSSS...
It’s normal that her sisters and even her niece visit her in her Summer residence. What it is not normal is that they go a military beach, an exclusive beach, like the one of Illetas and, in addition, accompanied by escorts. Is it to not mix themselves with the people, from which she and her sister come?

This guy is so insufferable… gosh he’s not only a gossiper, but also a lier… he says Felipe has uninterruptedly competed for all these years. Well, for his information, that’s not true. Felipe has missed several editions, as when he travelled to the swearing-in ceremonies of Latin-American presidents.

Lord, what does he want? Felipe already competed in two competitions, this year. Isn’t it enough?

He always seems to try to find something wrong with the family members and if nothing is wrong he makes it up. Remember when he kept going on about how Letizia would never get pregnant because her high heels are too high?

Penafiel charming as always:rolleyes: And why does he keep insisting that Haakon took paternety leave, he clearly did not as he was acting as regent whilst the King was in hospital

Here are some from Uk Press

Yeah, or when she was flying by helicopter, in the middle of the night and between a couple of busy working schedules, to receive fertile treatments...
If this man had not age to be my grandfather, you would see what I would call him... :D

Thanks for translation, Elsa M. I still don't understand, why such a popular and quite good newspaper as "El mundo" can work with him.

But where are the Princes now? It's interesting, that they could go anywhere without being seen. Remember? Last year noone knew when they went to spend the rest of their honeymoon after visit in Jordan. So maybe it's the same. I also think, that it could be a bit borring to stay in one place, even such wonderful as Mallorca, all summer.
