State Visit from Russia to Spain: February 8-9, 2006

Putin will visit Spain close on February 8 and 9

The Department of Foreign Affairs and of Cooperation has announced that Vladimir Putin, president of the Federation of Russia, will visit Spain next week.
Putin will realize this visit of State, accompanied by his wife, during next Tuesdays, the 8th and Wednesday, the 9th of February invited by the Kings, according to a communique of the department of Exteriors.
The King Juan Carlos I was got last June in the Kremlin by the Russian president. This visit was received by Putin as " a good sign that demonstrates the high degree of the relations between our countries ".
Six years before, Putin realized his first trip to Madrid, which was, precisely, the first one that he was doing abroad when came to the cargo May 7 of this year.

For their part the Kings will officially receive the Russian president - as they usually do in all foreign leaders visits - in the place which will be Putin's official residence while in Spain - El Pardo Palace

Besides the Kings will offer a dinner at the Royal Palace in honor of Putin, also as usual, and then Putin will offer a returning reception in El Pardo Palace.
 
Is it already known whether the Princes of Asturias will take part in the state visit?

Tomorrow it is Friday and we will know the agenda. The Princes have an act on the 7th in Valencia, and later they have the trip to Bulgaria. The normal thing is that they come, but tomorrow we will know it assurance.;)
 
Do you think all the family is going to attend? I want to see the Infantas with their husbands along with Felipe and Letizia and of course the Kings:)

Putin Arrives in Spain for Visit

MADRID, Spain - Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Spain on Wednesday for a two-day visit during which the fight against international terrorism and Moscow's cooperation with international organizations will be high on the agenda.

He was greeted at the airport by Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos and immediately set out with wife Lyudmila to meet with King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia at the Palacio del Pardo, a royal guest house outside Madrid.
 
SS.MM. The Kings offer a luncheon in the Zarzuela.

I knew all the "girls" would be attending, because it seems like Felipe's sisters are in every imaginable public act these days;)
Not to be annoying, but the only female outfit I liked was Queen Sofía's, the rest are plain boring
BTW: does anybody know where are Jaime and Iñaki? Seems like their wives are going "solo" everywhere this week
 
I'm really glad the SRF goes all out for this state visit.
It's great to see the infantas with the rest of the family.
I hope this also means they would attend the gala banquet later tonight.

crisinaki, i do hope for more brighter outfits amongst the women as well, but, there's still an opportunity for shine & glamour tonight, right?

Putin today begins an official visit from two days to Spain

the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, today initiates a visit from two days to Spain. Putin and Zapatero will analyze the antiterrorist cooperation, the economic attitude of Iran and relations between Spain and Russia, that the Executive wishes to impel to consider that they still count on an enormous potential.

Zapatero and Putin will tomorrow meet Thursday in the Palace of the Moncloa within the framework of the visit from State to Spain that today initiates the Russian president, who shortly after its arrival, will attend a lunch with the Kings.

The Executive has interest in taking advantage of this visit to harness the relations with Russia, that although from sources of the Government are considered very good and increasing, is desired that in scopes as the economic one is translated in more concrete yields.
