The president of Russia will visit Spain for the first time at the beginning of March
The Russian president, Dmitri Medvédev, will effect in March a Visit of State to Spain, the first one to our country since he took possession in May of last year. This way it has been confirmed to this newspaper by Natalia Timakova, boss of the department of press of the Kremlin. The minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Miguel Ángel Moratinos, added yesterday in Strasbourg that the trip of Medvédev to Madrid will take place to "beginning" of this month.
The leader Russian answers this way to the invitation that His Majesty the King did to him personally in June of last year.

The Directorate General of Foreign Communication for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation has issued the following communiqué:
On the invitation of Their Majesties the King and the Queen, Their Excellences the President of the Federation of Russia, Dmitri Medvédev, and Ms Medvédev will realize a State Visit to Spain on March 2-4, 2009.

They have changed the dates it will be from March 1 to March 3
