Here there is a sample of like some politicians , and the supposedly serious press behave ... if the serious one behaves this way, to imagine how the not serious one behaves.

Besides the act, with the regards and the speeches, later there is in the habit of being a " Spanish wine " (a cocktail); in it, the Royal Family, the politicians, the military and the press are mixed.

Zarzuela gives a room of the Palace to Zapatero to finish with the "groups"

Years ago it was exceptional that a politician was doing declarations to the Press in presence of a member of the Royal Family and, at some time that happened, the politician in question was re-lit by the Palace of The Zarzuela. What yes the journalists were doing, logically, was to take advantage of the politicians' presence in the receipts of the Kings to obtain some information, but everything was done by a great discretion, one was not in the habit of the source mentioning and was avoided to put between inverted commas the declarations.

Nevertheless, already in times of the previous prime minister, Jose Maria Aznar, the "groups called" started turning into something habitual into the receipts that the Kings were offering. And, in the last years, Jose Luis Rodríguez Zapatero's image has not been absent surrounded with dozens of accumulated journalists - every time time any more - either, that they were fighting to hear his words. Not noticing to the requests of Zarzuela, the politicians were taking advantage of the acts of the Royal Family to give up their declarations, without thinking that they are not the hosts.

In order to avoid this practice, a speaker of Zarzuela warned yesterday the journalists that if the "groups" were persisting, the presence of the Press in the Royal Palace would finish on having finished the institutional speeches and they would not return to be invited to the posterior receipts.

Simultaneously, one agreed to facilitate a room of the Royal Palace, contiguous to which the Kings were, in order that there Royal could do declarations without offer this bad image of the "group" in the middle of the receipt.

I have a question, through the years the Queen & Letizia at this event wear long skirts/dresses. Is there a reason for wearing long outfits to this event?

I'd be interested in knowing that too dazzling. i assumed it was a formal event and was protocol. (I don't know about spain but in USA when accompaning a man in FULL military dress uniform, you must be formally dressed also, that could be a reason) it could be because they wear their Spanish Orders, and they only wear those formally dressed (you don't see them slepping the sash over jeans and tshirts) i hope someone can it explain it, i'm very interested. thanks in advance

The Pascua Militar is an act of gala, the military are dressed in uniform of gala and because of it it corresponds that the ladies also are dressed in long dress. It is a question of etiquette.

thanks you so much. Interesting to know, I thought this would just be a reception and not a gala. So far, all ladies have looked great so do the men.

It is a military act, and in many military acts, like it happens with the diplomatic acts the etiquette is kept great.

When a woman of the Royal Family is a godmother in a military act she dresses of long dress, in black color and with mantilla.

In a few days the Royal Family will receive the diplomats destined in Spain, and in this day also they will be dressed in gala. Like when the King receives the Credentials of the ambassadors.

Not, you have understood me wrong. In the celebration of the Pascua Militar the mantilla it isn´t a necessary element. It was an example, of which in other acts of military type, when a woman is a godmother (this act is not the case), there is always an etiquette. The Infantas do not come to the Pascua Militar.

Gala in the case of the ambassadour reception - and today's Pascua Miliar - means long dress but not tiara etc, correct?
