No, sorry, I never posted any letizia's statements which allowed to say that Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano was republican before her wedding. I don't know any declaration, intervew about this item.

The single think the I could said is that Letizia is representing for Felipe a great open minding on the world of today and on the people of today that she know because she belong to them by her origine.

For it's a very positive and additional quality.

I continue saying that never I have listened to no interview of Letizia that says that she is republican.
The prince will know Letizia better than all we; and if he said that she is the suitable woman; then I do not have because not to believe to him.

I want to thank everyone, who has expressed their views in this thread, it certainly higlighted many important problems and issues.

I think posting in this forum is still a big disappointment because most of the answers I receive, specially from some members, are very rude and cynic which I don't understand for what reason. Having in mind that I haven't said anything that hurt someone fellings or said anything bad regarding Filipe and Letizia which it is evident that some members don't like!

Believe me I mean well by saying this, you seem to have some problems with "rudeness" towards your posts here. I've read their posts and I really don't find them rude at. Just because they reply to your posts doesn't mean they are being rude to you. Disagreeing with you does not mean being rude, and none of these people have broken the rules of these forums. This is a forums where people agree and disagree. Do you really know what "rude" means? Trust me I don't mean this in a bad way, but if you have problems with some people here I don't understand why you're still posting here. Maybe this is not the place for you? Just maybe.

You are right, planetcher, may be is the true question, " to be here or not to be here" because for my part I have a lot of trubbles to understand why some one is going on subjects that obviously he dosen't seem to appreciate? A true mystery!

Like I said, there are other forums I am wary of posting in because not only have I been the subject of rude comments but also personal attacks and insults.

The idea this only occurs in this forum is a big myth. imo.

Little_star, if I Understand well your purposes you are agree to say that in this forum we aren't too agressive? For that I'm totally agree with you, this forum is a true model of politness, because sometime I should write some hard words against some " stupidities" and I don't do it because I don't have privilege to be clever....

Generally speaking, no I do not think people on this forum are aggressive. However I do think alot of people's posts can be mis-interpreted because of the language barrier.

It does, biboquinhas! Very often I read a reply to your post and then go back to see what you have written and I see that actually, you meant something else but the words you used were taken by others to be, lets say 'harsh'.

It's the same for everyone on here. I always read a post carefully before I reply because more often than not I have misinterpreted what the poster has meant to say.

Generally speaking, I think that Portuguese/Spanish speakers (that I guess are a majority of the active posters here - me included), can be perceived as agressive, since often what was thought in Portuguese or in Spanish, when translated into English assumes a rather harsher tone.

Punctuation also represents a very "rudeness-detection point", even though the poster doesn't mean it. The "excessive" use of exclamation marks or of the smilie for example, may be perceived as a sign of rudeness, and sometimes this really isn't what the poster meant.

That's why one recommendation I'd leave for our regulars is to read the posts carefully, maybe more than once, and then ignore the punctuation and the smilies to see if they actually still feel that said post is rude.

And please, I know that this has been repeated endlessly, but if you feel that you're being attacked, please don't respond to it on the threads, turn to the moderators instead so we can deal with it

Anna_R, I think your post really hit the nail on the head. A large percentage of the people whon post in this forum don't have English as a first language and thank goodness or we would be without lots of interesting articles that they kindly translate! So posting what they think and making sure it is grammatically correct is even more of a challenge.

Moreover, I agree about smileys and exclamation marks. For example, biboquinhas, I've read a few of your posts that have seemed rude to me and it's mainly becasue you include so many exclamation marks. To a native English speaker that comes across as aggressive or negative. Often it's only when other posters ask what you meant that and you respond that I realise your comment or question was purely innocent.

I don't want you to think I'm picking on you because I'm not. I just wanted to show the way it's very easy for people to misinterpret another's comments and the intentions of their comments.

The fact that you can express yourself so another can understand is excellent! The odd spelling mistake barely counts, I often make typos (usually because I type too quickly) and English is my first language.

I think that a lot of the responses to many of us, including Biboquinhas, are very rude. I wanted to let you know that by mistake I posted in another forum, and I got a private email from the moderator, she was the nicest person ever. Even when my comment was harsh, she was very polite and told me that I had made a mistake and that the Spanish forum was somewhere else. She even thanked me for posting. That's all we need here. If we say Letizia is beautiful, great, wonderful, devoted mother, devoted wife, most honest, a true princess, we receive hundreds of emails saying, you are right, great, wonderfully said. However, if we say the opposite, we get bombarded, we are asked to back up our opinions, etc. Why? I have a right to say things that you may or may not like, but I am still a member of this forum and without being disrespectful to anyone, I have a right to say what I think. There is no need for hurt feelings. It is all pretty much for fun, right?
