On the verge of turning two months old, Infanta Leonor travelled yesterday, accompanied by her parents, the Princes of Asturias, to the island of Lanzarote, in order to spend some days at La Mareta, a residence located in a cliff over the Atlantic.

In a grey, warm day, as it’s typical of the canary winter, Leonor de Borbón met the sea for the first time. Don Felipe and Doña Letizia, accompanied by their daughter, arrived at the island on board of a Spanair airplane, coming from Madrid. When she arrived on board, the Infanta was asleep in her baby basket, that was carried by her father, the Prince, and during the almost three hours that lasted the flight, she alternated from the arms of Don Felipe to Doña Letizia.

As it’s natural, she was the main attraction to the crew and the rest of the passengers that were travelling in the same zone of the airplane. At 1:35 PM (insular hour), the Princes left the airport, in a car driven by Don Felipe, with Doña Letizia and little Leonor at the back seat.

At that same hour hundreds of other tourists arrived at the island, to spend some days of rest. Lanzarote received them with a little rain and a grey sky, but with an pleasant temperature. At the doors of La Mareta, located in Costa Teguise (about 15 kilometres from Arrecife), tourists and photographers were waiting for the arrival of the illustrious visitors. A Spainish flag hung at the front door of the residence alerted that the house was going to be the centre of the island.

The Princes will be at La Mareta until the next weekend, since they will return to Madrid to celebrate the arrival of 2006. In these days, there are no plans, although there is no better plan than the one to seat in some of the terraces of La Mareta, to contemplate the Atlantic immensity. As far as the requests of mass media, it is predicted that the Princes and little Leonor are going to pose for a photographic session today, which will allow us to see the how grown up is the girl, since she left the clinic on last November 7th.
Since that day, it was only possible to catch a fleeting image of Infant Leonor in the arms of Don Felipe on December 7th, when the Princes of Asturias went with their daughter to a mall of Madrid.

The lanzaroteños have received the presence of the Princes in the island with joy, mainly in the locality of Yaiza, since the children of a local school hope that these days Don Felipe and Doña Letizia will visit them, as they promised to do, in letter sent a couple of months ago.

Today we were able to see Infanta Leonor, dressed in casuals, like her parents, with jeans and a shirt. We could see for the first time that her eyes are blue. These are precious and tender images of the happy and proud Princes of Asturias, showing their little daughter in the gardens of the residence in Lanzarote.
Here, we have been able to discover that the Infanta, who is for the first time outside Madrid, continues delighting everybody and fascinating her parents, who took advantage of whenever they could to hug her and make some tenderness. During their appearance before the press, the Princes also announced that they will leave the island next Friday, to enter the New Year with the family.

I think this is my favourite! They just can't get anough of her! Such lovely photos, if you didn't know they were Royalty you'd think of them as just any young family visiting relatives at Christmas time.
Letizia looks spectacular considering she's only recently given birth! I thought she looked good at the 30th anniversary celebrations but shewas wearing a dark suit so it wasn't that clear. Now, however it's clear she looks stunning!!
