I forgot to mention-- if you have any photoshop questions, PM me and I'll try to help you, or go to Adobe - Photoshop CS3, Photo Editing Software, Digital Image Editor, which has great information.
If you choose to use PhotoFiltre, then you'd better as Her_Majesty- her avatars are great! My view on photoediting programs- If you have photoshop, it's a fantastic program, and the professional industry standard for most digital editting. However, it is extremely expensive, sometimes $900 (American) or more! If you are going to edit photos for a scrapbook, or to make avatars, use Her_Majesty's suggestion and use PhotoFiltre. If you are going to spend lots and lots of time, work with it and make that investment, buy photoshop. It's a very powerful program (and obviously my favorite!), but you pay every cent for it.
