I think the most striking thing about that day was how absolutely radiant Clotilde looked. It can't have been easy for her to be in the "condition" she was and she probably had a lot of criticism for that, but she held her head high and looked totally glowing and happy. She and EF make a great couple.

A day of bad taste if ever there was one. (Apart from Clotilde's sisters who looked really nice, thanks to Mr Lagerfeld). No wonder none of the reigning royal houses wanted to come.

What was so "day of bad taste" about it? Was it the fact she was pregnant? Let's be real here....it's the 21st century. This isn't the olden days of virgin brides dressed in white. Some women get pregnant and decide to get married. Sometimes the baby has to do with why they're getting married and sometimes the baby doesn't. Doesn't mean it's distasteful.

Now if you're talking about the shoes, I agree with you there. Platform pumps just don't scream "wedding".

Poor Clotilde lost her refined Valentino's pumps just before the ceremony (or maybe she had foot problems due to her pregnancy)... So she decided to wear those horrible platform shoes.

Did you know that Clotilde applied her make-up by herself?

I remember watching them on the tv special about young royals. The interviewer was with Clotilde as she was trying on her wedding dress, hairstyle and jewels, and asked her what she saw when she looked in the mirror. She replied "I want to cry." and the interviewer replied back with "Tears of joy.". I thought "No, that's not what she said.".

Little pity that we don't see her more in these jewels.

This tiara and earrings are absolutely beautiful. What is the pinkish stone? Sapphires? I thought that she was a beautiful bride.

The tiara is composed of diamonds and pink topaz. According to Vincent Meylan in Queen's Jewels the topazes can be replaced with turquoise or jet stones.
The complete parure comprises tiara, necklace, earrings, stomacher and a pair of bracelets.
