Iakynthi, I believe there is another thing they are wrong about. The Catherine they are referring to is the ex Catherine Batis current Princess Catherine of Yugoslavia.
Aimone & Olga are descendants of King George of Greece but they are not second cousins.

They are second cousins from their French side.

HRH Duke of Guise-Francoise-Michael-Olga

HRH Duke of Guise-Henri-Claude-Aimone

From the Greek side they are second cousins once removed.

George I-Constantine-Irene-Amedeo-Aimone

Oh my..... Is that some sort of traditional outfit? (Please tell me yes), because it looks like a duck landed on her back and started to shed its feathers. I think the whole get up is just awful. But if there is something tradiotional about it, then I could understand...

Its about time these two got hitched. The dress...hideous is a "kindly" euphemism for butt ugly!

Thanks for the pics, Marengo and Iceflower!
We have the pics finally!
I find that Aimone looks great. As far as it regards Olga, before commenting, I would like to know if that is a traditional Greek dress (It says it is a Prada wedding dress!??).
Maybe, as Lallettac wrote, only the colour is traditional (??).
Odette, Iakynthi,....... please, let us know!

Let us all hope that it was some sort of tradition with the gown, because I would definately have to agree with you HRH Kerry, Butt Ugly is just what this dress is.

Thanks for the pics everyone, but the dress is a disgrace! It would be more suitable for a masked ball than as a wedding gown! It looks like a mix with a Renaissance dress, a peplum, and an angel's costume, like those ones you see at Nativity plays! If it's a Prada creation, then it's true: the devil inspires Prada!

I wrote a long message and the forums kicked me out!!!!!!!! The shorter version is that this is a traditional Dodecanese island wedding gown. Olga went a bit more artistic about it but she always goes the extra mile/
From her parents house to the Church her father escorted her on foot. The road was covered with myrsina branches and local musicians were preceding them
KC & Q AM were housed at P Amyn Aga Khan's house and Q Sofia at P Sandruhin Aga Khan's house. The reception was held at the local elementary school
The rest of Greece has no clue since none of the widely read papers made any mention of the wedding...........

Who is the red-dressed woman in the pic 8? Maybe Mrs Gandolfi?

Odette, can you link to an image of a really traditional gown so that we could compare for ourselves?

I am so sorry I have no clue how to do this. If you google traditional Greek costumes I am sure you will come up with different dresses from all of Greece's regions. Look for Aegean dresses and I am sure you will zero in.
When I get out of here I will try and when I find them I will note all the info so I can post the info. (no pictures since ........ I do not know how)

Hey Odette,

If you find a link to one, all you have to do is copy the link from the address bar at the top of the navigation pane/page and paste it into the body of your message. You can use the CTRL button plus C to copy and the CTRL button plus V to paste.

The couple looks fantastic IMO. Both are very good looking! The wedding gown reminds me a little bit of the one the first Lady Spencer wore (first wife of Diana´s brother)
Are those children already the one´s of her sister Alexandra?
