Obrigada (thanks) to Cathérine, Sofia and Elsa! :)

I could spend hours and hours watching all these pics you posted. I love the bouquet of Anne-Cécile, it seemed a very romantic wedding. The same I must say about the dress of Countess Marie Kinsky von Wichinitz: simple, romantic, elegant and so Chic!!

I adore this picture http://img153.imageshack.us/my.php?image=scannen00086yy.jpg (Posted by Cathérine, point de vue)

Imo, she's more pretty and elegant than any other bride of Hollywood movies.

I also love that photo, Regina. The gorgeous hairdo seems to be one of Alexandre's famous art pieces... :)

I just love the back of Anne-Cécile's wedding dress (the buttons I mean). It's so beautiful. If it was my wedding, I probably wouldn't have had the jacket and just made the whole dress long-sleeved. Her bouquet was just beautiful as well. The fan was a nice addition as well. Thanks for all the photos.

Same here! her hair style, sprinkled with these white flowers, just so "Kaiserin Sissi"-like, sooo romantic and refreshing, such a relief to, for once, not see a long veil (although I'm a sucker for veils, I can appreciate deviation now and then too ;)
There was a ton of sophistication about this bride, she's my favorite 2006 royal bride so far I think.

Prince Alexander of Yugoslavia & Princess Maria Pia de Savoy 1955

Prince Alexander of Yugoslavia (*1924) married Princess Maria Pia de Savoy (*1934) in Cascais (Portugal), on February 15th 1955. Six hundred aristocratic guests crowed into the little church, while thousands of people jammed the village streets, to see the wedding party.

The simple ceremony took only seven minutes, since no mass was celebrated, because the bride was a Roman Catholic and the groom a member of the Greek Orthodox Church.

Does anyone have any pics of the wedding of Prince Ludwig Rudolph of Hanover to Countess Isabella von Thurn-Valsassina? I remember seeing one of the countess wearing a Hanover tiara but don't recall where. ps They both died a year later-she overdosed and he commited suicide that same night. They left a son, Otto, who was being raised by his maternal grandparents although Ludwig in his suicide note left instructions for his brother, Ernst August to raise him.

This is discussed in the Royal House of Hanover thread (page 2) but there are no posted pics.
You could try a search of the Monaco Forums as a lot of Hanover material has also been posted there (see 'search' in the blue line at the top of the page).

Yet another very romantic noble wedding in Germany! Is it me or is there currently a wave, if not a tsunami, of noble weddings coming our way? (well with currently I mean, 'as of late', including the past few years)

The bride's attire is just right: nothing over the top, just lovely lovely lovely. Great veil, beautiful flowers. Come to think of it, this whole wedding judging from the pictures, is just perfect in every way.

Nice photos. I tried to find who is Prince Yurievsky and tracked down a few genealogy sites, but I don't like the way they present the family trees. So far I've found that the Prince is a Romavov relation, descends from Czar Alexander II of Russia.

I think Birgitta looks a lot like Madeleine...

Curiosly, leonardinha, I was going to say that she looked Victoria in this picture http://img154.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=10521_4_409lo.jpg, and Madeleine in this one http://img137.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=10904_princessbirgitta_323lo.jpg. :)

But now I got confused, how come the bride used two tiaras in her wedding day... am I missing something?!

I don't like the fur detail on Katharina Verhagen nuptial gown... she could've done much better... Looks like she already had the wedding gown when she realised she was cold and someone threw a fur stole over her shoulders:D ...

Thank you all for sharing this photos. I love weddings, and this is one of my favourite threads on TRF!

Regards,
mtbcm :)

She used two tiaras in two different days... One tiara for the civil wedding and another one for the religious wedding! :)

King Zog of Albania & Countess Geraldine Apponyi de Nagy-Appony 1938

King Zog (*1895 +1961) of Albania married Countess Geraldine Apponyi de Nagy-Appony (*1915 +2002), on April 27th 1938. The wedding consisted in just a civil ceremony, since the groom was a Muslim and the bride a Roman Catholic. Count Galeazzo Ciano (see last pic) played as a witness.

Countess Geraldine wore a white satin gown embroidered with pearls - which the king had ordered from Worth (Paris) - and her veil was trailed from a high diadem of orange blossoms. Among the six bridesmaids, there were the King's three sisters, Maxhide, Mysejen and Ruhije.

Geraldine Apponyi was one of Europe's great aristocratic beauties, sometimes referred to as "the white rose of Hungary". By marrying at the age of 22, she became the second youngest queen in the world.

Thanks Elsa for the pics. I think it's very interesting to know that they met when she was working selling postcards for a living at the Budapest National Museum! It's so romantic, imo!!

What Geraldine's bridesmaids had on their heads?

We know about royal weddings costs but how much could cost these weddings?
