Other Royal and Noble Weddings

St James's Church in Piccadilly is such a lovely venue for the ceremony.

Wedding of Countess Tatjana von Waldburg-Zeil-Hohenems with Philipp Eisl

"The eldest daughter of Nini and Franz-Clemens Waldburg-Zeil, Tatjana Waldburg-Zeil, married the son of an industrialist from Salzburg, Philipp Eisl, in the St. Karl church in Hohenems on 2 October"

I suppose with Nini they mean Stefanie née Css von Blanckenstein? I believe one of her younger daughters is the goddaughter of King Willem-Alexander.

Those noble weddings in the Alps are usually charming and unpretentious, this one being no exception.

In some internet articles it says Máxima was a godmother to Sophie von Waldburg-Zeil-Hohenems (born in 2000), but that would probably mean prior to her marriage to King Willem-Alexander which would be suprising.

The article posted above says that King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima were expected to attend the celebration in the evening.

As far as i remember, King Willem-Alexander is indeed godfather of one of the daughters and one of the daughters was a flowergirl at the wedding in 2002.

That is interesting. Is there a family relationship between them, or are they friends for other reasons?

I believe the youngest daughter has 'Máxima' as one of her names. The count and countess are supposedly very good friends of the King so they must have known Máxima before the engagement. I am not sure if Máxima is also the godmother, Css Stephanie does not say so in this interview, while she does mention that WA is a godfather of her 3rd daughter:

Note that the article says that the countess was raised in Seville.

Interesting to see Princess Angela there too. At the time of the King's engagement it was rumoured that the couple was introduced to each other in Seville by a prince of Liechtenstein who lived in NYC, some people deducted that prince to be Prince Maximilian. I am not sure if that is still the version is still en vogue as others have been suggested over the years too.

Princess Angela:

They are close friends. There is no close family relation and AFAIK the parents of the count were never present at royal events.

Some speculation on my part: Hohenems is not far away from Lech. Perhaps the families were introduced during the winter holidays as 'suitable' companions? That was the custom at least in Porto Ercole where Queen Juliana would meet Italian aristocrats from the area who would entertain her.

Leonie zu Waldburg-Zeil und Hohenems (sister of the bride) also was a flower girl at the 02-02-02 Wedding of WA and Máxiima. The family are long-standing friends of the royal couple.

Lovely images from Venice. I assume the wedding party was held in the Palazzo Papadopoli afterwards?

I have seen no images yet from the wider Orleans clan or even of the wider Savoy family, or even the dowager duchess for that matter.

there are pictures on Noblesse et Royautés where we can see Princess Claude de France first wife of the late Duke Amedeo and Grand Mother of the Bride
The Wedding of her Mother Bianca was the first italian Royal Wedding since 1946

Princess Caroline Murat and Antoine Turzi celebrated their wedding at Hotel Le Marois in Paris with a number of noble guests yesterday, November 27:

Beatrice von Preußen and Edmund Jenner

Her Great-Grandfather was the last German Emperor, her Grandfather, Prince Friedrich von Preußen, the fourth son of Crown Prince Wilhelm and his wife Cecilie von Mecklenburg-Schwerin.

Now Beatrice von Preußen has married Edmund Jenner, son of Miles Anthony Jenner, a brewer from Sussex/England.

Bunte online, the German tabloid, reports and has a video (on top of the linked page) with pictures and snippets:

Especially interesting and unusual is her dress, which looks at least to me like Prussian Blue with Silver-White.

Margherita Countess von Arco-Zinneberg and Charles Green married on March 19, the bride shared a photo:

That is a lot of lace and a lot of cleavage. The bride is wearing her mother's earrings but I can not make out the tiara - or even if she is wearing one at all.

It is the Savoy-Aosta tiara which was also worn by her sister Anna Theresa at her Wedding. Probably on loan from her uncle Lorenz.

The Wedding of Margherita Countess von und zu Arco-Zinneberg with Charles Green took place last Saturday in the Asam Basilica of St. Margaretha

I want to love the bride's gown but I find it surprising, bordering on inappropriate, for a Catholic Royal wedding celebrated in a basilica no less.:ermm:

But on the plus side the fit is perfect.

Álvaro Falcó, Marqis of Cubas, and Isabelle Junot (daughter of Philippe Junot, first husband of Princess Caroline of Mónaco), will marry on April 2 at the palace of the Marquis of Mirabel in Plasencia.

:previous: I had thought that they already got married last year, but maybe that was the date of their civil wedding. It's great to see their wedding pics now. Princess Amelie is wearing her family's emerald tiara, as her elder sister Princess Sophie has done before her in 2017.
