Imre is studying in Poland??? I hear it for the first time!

Congrats to them!

And the Prince Napoleon who is dating Countess Olimpia von Arco-Zinneberg, is named Jean-Christophe, not Jean-Claude.

i am for one not a fan of katie's dress. there's too much going on for me on the top. the plissée and the embroidery for some reason look like too much. i like simple wedding dresses and this is for certain not one.

i wonder if katie inspired herself on kate middleton (the embroidery plus the bustier arrangement is similar). of course, it may not be the case, i guess now the embroidery on the top of the dress is very much en vogue.

on the other hand, even the fact that the dress was not my cup of tea, i think katie looked good and they both looked happy. but... the limousine is just too tacky. who was the wedding planner? i hope it wasn't her idea to hire a limousine, otherwise that would just discredit her from any events planning.

i hope the new archduchess of austria does not use her title to give attention to her "causes". even more, i think after her "ascension" she should keep quieter of such radical views.

i'm looking forward to christoph and adelaide's wedding, which will surely be another level of event.

I couldn't agree with you more, Hermione.

Hmmm. I'm not sury why that is, principessa.

At this point if you search for "Imre Kathleen Walker wedding" in Google Images, you will see several photos of the wedding. Good luck....

Perhaps Katie's fondness for speaking publicly is rubbing off on Imre....
It would have been much better for the couple not to publicly express their opinion on the matter. These particular things must remain private.

You are absolutely right.

Well, then let's hope Kathleen is as steadfast in her beliefs as the Habsburgs are when it comes to divorce - there is not much worse in my experience then finding out in your wedding night that your fantasies don't fit... Maybe they do, though. Or not. But then, it's not my life, is it? <grin>

Oh God, I just read this nonsense. Written like a academic paper, it is so full of logical errors in the conclusions taken from the data provided (and I'm not even sure this is not data gathered by a Catholic team of surveyors) that I wonder if any of these two actually reached an academic degree?

Where does the idea come from that married (as in "un-divorced") people are necessarily in a "happy" marriage? For it's not the marriage that gives children the security, it's a happy or at least friendly marriage of people concious of the needs of their kids. There are children much better off after their parents separated - children who then expereince parital love without being part of an unhappy family triangle.

As for their sexuality: well, it's their choice. History alas has shown that women may be okay with such scenarios, but that men tend to follow their instincts occasionally. Oh, I'm married for years and years now and have never looked at another man (and I'm sure my husband hasn't either taken sideway glances) but we tried it out and found we fit before we said "yes" in front of the Lord.

Why does anyone think that we need to know their views on sex? Keel it to yourself --- whether you abstain or engage more often than most. I don't need to know. I wonder what the new Archduchess thinks of her new Uncle Jean, cousin Louis, or for that matter the Crow Princess of Norway? Oh, to be a fly on the wall!

I have a sinking feeling that the Archduchess won't be happy with a secondary role in life. Stay tuned .... We have ourselves a bully with a pulpit.

Apparently they will move to Europe. Imre is studying in Poland, and some say that they will move there. However, the taxi driver with whom Marlene spoke (who had driven the couple) said that they're moving to Brussels, which would also make sense, given that Imre's family is in Belgium. In either case, it appears that Kathleen will have to manage a significant change in culture and context.

I would imagine given their belief/faith they will focus on family. I would guess when it comes to dealing with a new culture that there are people with similar views all over the world. Afteralll Imre is not American and he apparently has very similar views to hers.

Based on your comment, my guess is that you've never had to face the challenge of living in a different culture, LaRae, but perhaps I'm wrong. Cultural transitions can be very difficult, even if one has the good fortune of having something important - like faith - in common with those in the new setting. Fundamental assumptions about how to behave are so different in each culture.... For example, if someone gives Katie a compliment in Belgium, I hope for her sake that she won't simply say "thank you," as we would in the U.S., because it won't go over very well! She'll be thought to be quite arrogant and even rude.

Since Austria abolished all titles with the end of the monarchy the bride is NOT an Archduchess what's more she has not even the right to call herself an Archduchess while being in Austria. She is just Kathleen Habsburg-Lothringen and the same applies for all family members! Even the late Otto didn't have this right he was just Dr. Otto Habsburg-Lothringen in Austria. Only IF the monarchy still existed the title Archduke and Duchess would be correct.

No I have not lived overseas (my husband has) however I do have exposure quite often from those who are from other non-American cultures so I do have a grasp of the differences in how people go about things. I have family members from other cultures.

As far as Kathleen responding to compliments and the linke... I would assume her new family will guide her as needed.

Not a fan of the dress either; like certain elements but it didn't seem to gel. My biggest problem was the bodice. The lace illusion neckline was nice, but it clashed with the ruching on the bodice and the puffy ball gown skirt. I think if the bodice area were different (i.e. no rushing), the overall effect would have worked better. Loved the veil, the same one Marie-Christine wore, and wished Kathleen featured it more prominently like her sister-in-law. I did think her makeup and hair were done very well though.

Seriously folks?

Let's stay on topic with the actual wedding of Imre and Kathleen. If you would like to discuss the pro choice/pro life movement, there are plenty of other forums where you can do that.

But you will not do it here.

Any and all future off topic posts will be deleted without notice.

Thanks Zonk.
The modern Habsbourg managed a royal happy wedding in a foreign Country.

Their Imperial and Royal Highnesses Archduke Christian and Archduchess Marie-Astrid looked happy such their families and royal Guests .

Well done !

He is studying in Poland? Studying what and where? In Warsaw or Cracow?
