Hereditary Prince Carl-Ferdinand zu Bentheim und Steinfurt (*1977) is marrying Elna-Margret Rinn (*1979) this weekend. The civil wedding took place yesterday and the religious ceremony is happening tomorrow noon, June 21st, at the Bentheim Castle.
Prinz Christoph zu Bentheim und Steinfurt (brother of the groom) and Susanne Simon are the witnesses.

The groom is the eldest son of Prince Reinhard Georg zu Bentheim und Steinfurt and of his wife, Angelica Emmermann, while the bride is a daughter of Manfred Rinn and of Brigitte Renate Strauss.

Here is another photograph from the wedding of the Erbprinz zu Bentheim und Steinfurt. ​

It shows the procession of the newly married couple, preceded by men carrying the banners of the Princely House, as they are taken in a horse-drawn carriage through the streets on their way back to the family Schloss. The carriage, flanked by liveried walkers, did a circuit of the old town, which is probably the way such princely weddings have been celebrated for the past two or three hundred years.

Even in 2007, some traditions are continued as they always have been.

The Herditary Princess zu Bentheim und Steinfurt gave birth on Christmas Eve to her first child, a son, Prince Jonathan Alexis Viktor.
