Maybe this is Elisabeth on her wedding gown?
Thanks for the links, Magnik. And as for the wedding picture mystery, yes, that particular portrait seems a good candidate. But on the other hand, it doesn't state anywhere that that is a wedding portrait of her. Sure she is wearing a veil, but she does so as well in other portraits in her capacity as empress of Austria and queen of Hungary.
But you have a point in that the date seems to be correct: that was the year I believe she married.

It is confusing..the link to "Sissi as a bride" seems to be an entirely different portrait. Also, somewhere I saw a picture of what was said to be her "wedding crown" and it looked like a sort of gilded crown of flowers, and not like a real crown or tiara..

Thanks, Gogm. Do you happen to know if it's a decent and informative forum like this one? THe Dutch Sisi link group is not accessible as a guest, so I can't really check em out first and then sign up later if I like em.. (guess I'm a bit picky where I sign up..)

Default Princess Olga's Question About the Dutch Group

It's a Yahoo! group rather than a forum like this. It has some good pics in it. I believe you have to join to access pics in Yahoo! groups.

(I wouldn't be surprised if the master tracks and participates in TRF.)

Here's a couple of photos from the wedding of Princess Zita of Bourbon-Parma to Archduke Charles Franz Josef (later Emperor of Austria), in 1911.

Default Wedding Dresses

The pictures of the dresses are really beautiful.
i would like to know more about the wedding dresses worn by the royal families of the middle east. if anyone has some pictures to show i would greatly appreciate it. in particular the most extravagent gowns ever made.i would like to see dresses up to the 1960's.recent wedding gowns,i've seen alot of.
as we all know that the middle eastern princesse are known to have the best gowns made by the best couturiers in Paris.I've seen a documentary about the shah of iran's wedding to princess soraya and seen her great confection of a gown by Dior.it was so heavy that she was struggling to even walk in it.I read that in the 1930's when the shah married priness Fawzia of Egypt, that her Paris wedding gown cost US $ 20 000.00 at the time.Id like to see pictures and know what happened to these extravagant gowns???

oh, just love these pictures! She made such a pretty bride! With Grace K. perhaps my all time favorite!

Thanks so much for posting Elsa!

by the way, the old moustached man in the pictures, isn't that emperor Franz Josef, the widow of Sisi?

Wedding of Prince Juan de Borbón and Princess María de las Mercedes Dos-Sicilias (the parents of the current king of Spain), on October 12th 1935. The bride's gown was designed by Worth and it was made in silver lamé with old embroiders. She used a diadem of orange blossom coming from Valencia. From Hola:

These two aren't from their wedding. The're from around 1850s. On Charles C. F. Greville's Memoir a Journal of the reigns of King George IV, King William IV and Queen Victoria is the same photo of Q.V and it's caption as Queen Victoria in court gown.

Here you go pictures from that event

Alexandra was a stunningly beautiful woman, and it no more shows than in this picture. She was a beautiful bride, and I love the sausage curls. Her dress is so full and dramatic, and I love the necklace.

Truly a beauty.

Cutured to perfection. I myself adore traditional fashions, epecially seeing as they always bring out the best in the couples respect tive figures.

Before I take up all the space, may I say great job everyone for your wonderful wedding attire contributions. A marvellous collection
