Hola has an article here. Princess Margriet looks very good, great earrings! A pity Marilene doesn't seem to be able to get her hands on some Orange-Nassau goodies though.

Princess Marilène herself is debet to not delving in the royal jewelrybox I think, she doesn't particularly care about it as I am sure she could have a piece or two three for the night if she so wished.Instead she has that Pauw meisje look, she's kind and gorgious but not a real fashion icon/bling bling kind of person.

Odd that they do not tell what minor surgery she will undergo, usually they announce that too. Anyway, all the best to the Princess!

Any idea how Prof. Pieter's health is? No news is good news in these matters, I suppose.

Tongiht Prof. Pieter van Vollenhoven will be a guest in the programme 'Pauw & Witteman' on Ned1. I think he will talk about his new proposal that 'whistle blowers' should receive prodection from a neutral institution and not from the state (as he was in the news 2 days ago because of that proposal).

Oops, forgot to post that here,or so it seems, posted it "everywhere" else.

The Beeldbank/Image Bank is a true treasure trove as it contains over 175.000 images of the Kingdom of the Netherlands,
the Netherlands Indies (present day Indonesia and Papua New Guinee)the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba during WW II,
including quiet a few of our Royal Family,in Canada.

Some pictures in the 'beeldbank':

These pictures were wrapped in silverpaper and thrown from Allied airplanes, to raise moral in Nazi-occupied Holland.

With baby Margriet

'The Netherlands will rise again'

Juliana and two daughters

Wilhelmina, Bernhard, Juliana and the three little princesses

Juliana smiling, Beatrix & Irene playing

Here a picture of Juliana, Bernhard, Beatrix and Irene arriving in London in 1940.

What this and this picture are doing in a WWII database is a mystery to me, but it shows Juliana and the former German Kaiser during the wedding of Prince Louis-Ferdinand and Grand Duchess Kira of Russia.

The Kaiser at Louis Ferdinand's wedding,oh,that just got cought there, like you say,it has nothing to do with WW II itself.

As this wonderfull, incredibly valueble, warm, professional & great human being celebrates his birthday on april 30,Queensday,too.Here are some pics of this man,the only one I can think of to be elevated to the rank of Prince if it was up to me.He has done soooo much over the decades, all to the good of Queen,House and Kingdom.Dearest Pieter,Prof.mr.Pieter van Vollenhoven will celebrate his 69th on wednesday.

Most attention used to go to the late Queen Juliana ofcourse, but there was such a strong, warm and most of all humerous bond between the late Queen and her son-in-law.They both had/have an immense sense of humour,it must have "carried" them across many a rough sea,I'm sure.

April 30th,according to Pieter used to be a who gets to call whom first?Soestdijk - Apeldoorn or Apeldoorn - Soestdijk?Meaning would it be Juliana calling him,or him calling Juliana, they often ended up calling in the dark of night as each wanted to be the first to congratulate the other. It was a game and a lot of fun between the two of them.

Pieter van Vollenhoven,a man towards we dutch can feel nothing but respect and gratitude, and a smile when we hear his name,he's after something then.

A warm thank you "Prince" Pieter!
