He was referring to the present president or to Portuguese presidents in general?

Just out of curiosity, what would such a conference be about? King Carlos obviously, but what is there to discuss & even more so, to dedicate an entire conference to it?

Marengo, although the article states that the Duke of Bragança criticized "the President of the Republic", I guess it's misquoted (you know, it's from a small local radio... unfortunately that's the only kind of press to interview the Duke of Bragança: local papers and yellow press). I believe he was referring to presidents of the republic in general, since that's what he constantly repeats, day in day out. Moreover, Mr. Cavaco Silva is well-known for being quite cooperant with the present Government, so none of this makes sense actually...

I believe it's still one of the many events taking place this year to remember the regicide.

He believes that the the barrage will bring little advantage to the region, while the railroad may be a tourist asset and a cheaper alternative, due to the price of fuel.

Thanks for the pics, Elsa. I think all the 2 children will become very tall. Francisca has very long legs, doesn't she?
And Afonso is alreay taller than his mother.

Dª Isabel was a very blonde child too so the blondeness comes from both sides

(FromNescafe Forums netcafé@monarquia.moderna :: Index
- Caras Magazine)

Blonde Isabel:

1 2 3

After her first years, she became darker

1 2 3

It seems the Infantes will remain blonde at least longer than Isabel did. The austrian genes are indeed very present.

Check this link of Nescafe Forum where you can see the scannings from Caras and even read the article about her childhood (only in Portuguese), posted by Bruno Roberto.

The Duke and Duchess of Bragança were among the guests that attended the return dinner offered yesterday by the King and Queen of Sweden to the Portuguese President, Cavaco Silva. There are a few photos of the ducal couple, but only accesible to the assigned press. D.ª Isabel was very elegant, wearing what seems to be the same blue dress she used at the GD Couple's Silver Wedding Celebrations in Luxembourg, in 2006.
Have a glipmse here.

Here's the thread of the State Visit:

According to a VIP magazine, D.ª Isabel is going to have a second surgery, next September, due to the injuries suffered last year, when fell off a horse.

Last year, Dª Isabel has an accident when she was riding. She broke one of her coller bones. Probably she is not completely recovered from the the fracture. I don't know if she rode again after the accident. See this

Probably she will Hospital da Luz again. All the best for her!

Região de Leiria > Edição Impressa > Educação & Ciência - Escola recebe D. Duarte em festa

On May 9th, D. Duarte Pio de Bragança was enthusiastically recieved in the School EB2 Dr. Manuel de Perpetual Oliveira, in Porto de Mós. The Duke of Bragança was invited by the students from the 5th grade, who had written him a letter, during a History class.

After giving autographs and taking photos with the children, D. Duarte gave a "history lesson", during which he presented the advantages of the Monarchy and he said that the expenses of the Portuguese Presidency of the Republic are only supplanted by one European monarchy: the United Kingdom.
