I'm glad this style had made a resurgance. It is a great look on Queen Rania and generally complements the neckline of most outfits. The pearls are a lovely touch.:)

Rings
I'd need a decent scanner to pull this off but I have seen both QR and QN wear different rings on their wedding band fingers. Occasionally, they wear a simple band and in a recent shot, QR was wearing a few bands stacked together. QN did the same thing, wearing a gold band, occasionally offset with a pave yellow and diamond band. I wonder why this is; is it a new style or something done in the ME? Just curious.:)

I saw the two rings too maryshawn. Queen Rania is wearing them in the People magazine portrait. One of them is a single band with a row of white (I haven't seen a very good close up but I think its diamonds) in the middle, and the other one is a bigger band divided in four different colours.
Im pretty sure that the second ring made its first appearance in the pictures announcing Prince Hashem's birth: (which makes me wonder if it was a baby gift, perhaps from King Abdullah?)
Queen Rania Jewellery 1 (Oct 2003-Oct 2008)
Queen Rania has been wearing this year quite frequently this year, both by itself and with her wedding band as seen in the pictures below:
1. Queen Rania Jewellery 1 (Oct 2003-Oct 2008)
2. May 31, 2005 (Petra)
3. June 11, 2005 (Yahoo news)
4. July 5, 2005 (Petra)
5. July 11, 2005 (Olycom)
6. August 24, 2005 (Abaca)
7. October 3, 2005 (Gettyimages)
This ring can be seen in the 2004-5 Boucheron catalogue and website:

The other ring QR is wearing in the People magazine portrait, the one I also mentioned above is this one:
1. September 13, 2005 (Petra)
2. September 28, 2005 (Petra) Here QR is wearing it with her simple gold band.
In these pictures QR is wearing both the rings together (on different hands, as in the People portrait)

Another ring. This might be an fashion/costume jewellery piece.
October 3, 2005 (Eastnews)
Here's Queen Rania wearing the two rings from post 74 and 75 in a recent People magazine portrait.
I managed to make a nice, big scan. She's also wearing a simple, round diamond (I presume) pendant necklace with matching earrings and what looks like a black cord strung with pearls.

wow! Now that is a stunning ring! Very very different, it reminds me of some rings in a shop near where I live. They specialise in steel jewelry.
Thank you for all the pictrues, Humera.

I love it!!!! Thank you!:) The lines are sleek and elegant.....very sophisticated and tasteful. Queen Rania's taste in jewelry is striking. It's never over the top--but you do see it and take a second look because it's so stunning. It compliments what she's wearing so well and also looks very much in keeping with her taste.

i agree, maryshawn. I think she's very practical in that respect, with the exception of galas you never see her with really large peices of jewellery.

I think--and correct me if you think otherwise--she has got it down so that, even at galas, she wears one spectacular piece and then some far simpler pieces, if any. That's what makes her such a standout. Her jewels do not detract from her outfit, and more importantly, from her natural beauty. It's a simple, striking approach to wearing one's jewels to best effect.

Very true, there are some Royals for example the Brunei Royals, who have such ostentatious jewels they almost look fake. Whereas with Rania you know, that what ashe's wearing is excellent quality and yet incredibly stylish. I think her jewellery always compliments her outfit and never overpowers what she s wearing.

Here you go
1. Queen Alia's (now Princess Haya's) tiara
Queen Rania wore it on her coronation and throughout 1999 during various state visits and in formal portraits (QR Image gallery)
2. Tiara (and I believe convertible necklace) worn during the state visit to the uk in 2001 (APL)
3. Diamond tiara worn for an official portrait a few years ago (2003, I think) This is the only time I've seen QR wear this tiara, I find it very pretty and would love to see Rania wear it at a state visit. It looks strikingly similar to the one above....though some people have said the two are different...I would tend to agree with that. This one does have a different base but the motif looks the same. Perhaps the design was inspired by the tiara/necklace worn in London in the pictures above. What does everyone else think? (QR Image Gallery)
4. Black gold and emerald tiara by Boucheron (Abaca and Magickal Rania)
Im beginning to think this tiara belongs to QR. She wore it for a Vanity Fair portrait and then again, several months later, during the state visit to Sweden. If someone knows otherwise then please let us know.

I think numbers 2 and 3 are the same tiara. Both sets of pics were taken in 2001. I can't imagine Rania would get 2 tiaras in 1 year. The State Visit to Great Britain in November 2001 was a landmark occasion for Abdullah and Rania, so I see no reason why Rania wouldn't get a new tiara, especially since it was her first - having borrowed Haya's from 1999 through to 2000. But 2 tiaras is unlikely.
I love Haya's tiara (number 1). It is richly ornate and flattering. Tiara number 2 is very sophisticated but there is nothing unique about it. I wouldn't be surprised actually if this was a gift from Abdullah himself. I see the emerald tiara as very much Rania's choice. It is very unusual and sets her apart from other tiara-wearing ladies. I bet that was the point.

you know, maybe QR's just wearing them with different bases. One thing I did notice was that the number of floral/rosette motif (I dont know the right terminology) is different in both tiaras...9 and 11 in #2 and #3 respectively. So they might be removable, along with the base, giving the same tiara a different look and even making it convertible into a necklace.

Thanks for the pictures, Humera. Haya's tiara is stunning, no doubt about it. I think the tiara in pictures 2 and 3 is the same, although I'm not particularly excited by it, it seems a bit boring but then I suppose it woul go with anything.
I love the emerald tiara though, absolutely gorgeous!

you're welcome :)
I often wonder why Queen Rania never borrowed any tiara from her mother-in-law, at least at the beginning when she had none of her own. I have seen at least one picture of Princess Muna in wearing a tiara.
Queen Noor happens to have some beautiful tiaras of her own. She rarely wears them. I think It would've been nice if she could've lent them to Rania when she first became Queen. Lets hope we'll see more of those tiaras on Princesses Iman, Raiyah, and Noor...and Prince Hashem's new bride ofcourse.

I've never seen pictures of Muna's or Noor's tiaras? Maybe none of them are particularly nice!
