The collet and earrings in the link above are reserved only for the use of a Queen regnant or the wife of a King.

Exactly my poit! And Queen Victoria's necklace is much shorter than the one Camilla wore.

Just out of curiosity - when did The Queen Mother wore a tiara for the last time (and which) and what the occasion was.

Thanks in advance,
Bobby

I think Camilla borrowed Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother's coronation necklace that has 40 diamonds, see The Royal Collection website:

Camilla wears The Queen Mother's coronation gift from her husband, which was a collet of diamonds from the royal collection of unset stones.

Queen Victoria's diamond collet necklaces are worn by The Queen (she has worn them many times at the State Opening of Parliament), which can only be worn in right of the Crown by a Queen or Queen Consort.

So on the cover is the Queen Mother wearing the coronation gift as well as Queen Victoria's Necklace? Blimey, what Id give to have a few unset diamonds just rolling about somewhere.

Yes, she is wearing both necklaces. The rest of the jewels in the photo also belonged to Queen Victoria and were left to the Crown. Queen Mary passed these jewels to Elizabeth when she became Queen Consort.

I am not sure I agree with this. I do not think the collet necklace Camilla wears has 40 stones, and so I am not inclined to think it is the coronation necklace. It may just be anothee collet necklace from the collection.

Which tiara is The Queen Mother wearing on this photo? I doesn't look like anything I've seen before.

Thanks in advance,
Bobby

It appears to be the diamond and aquamarine tiara; a gift from King George VI to his wife. It is now in HRH the Princess Royals' possession.

Thank you, Madame! Now looking at the photo again, I can see that it's the old setting of the aquamarines. Are there more photos of Queen Elizabeth wearing this tiara?

Bobby

This is a lovely tiara. It is a while since we have seen Anne in it.

Anne hasn't worn the tiara in a long time. It was shortened to make it more comfortable to wear, but she seems to be happy wearing the Festoon Tiara or Meander Tiara.

Ta, Warren! I've always wondered why the Forums does not have an archive of the royal jewels and a short history about each item, like a simpler version of Ursula's site. Is it because of Copyright laws, or is it just too much work to create?

The present Queen wore the Jubilee brooch of Queen Victoria without its pendant (on Maundy Thursday); The Duchess of Cornwall wore a similar brooch with an emerald centre (on one of the Royal Ascot races) with its pendant. Both brooches were The Queen Mother's until 2002. Is anyone able to confirm that both pieces were originally from Victoria (I am sure the Jubilee brooch is), but the one with the emerald centre has many ressemblances and perhaps given on the same occasion by another source to Victoria?

Both. Leave it to the established experts who write books on the subject (Field, Menkes, Munn etc) or check out this site (before it gets closed down):

No, there are actually two similar pairs; but this pair was a gift from George VI to his wife Elizabeth.
