It's correct name is 'The Oriental Circlet' as stated in the Royal Collection website.

Hello All--I'm having some trouble locating a photo of the emerald demi-parue left to the Queen Mum by Mrs. Greville--any one out there able to help?
Many thanks--

I don't think that I've seen that before either Andrew. Thanks for posting it, it's a stunner.

Your welcome!
![]() It's a pity that there is no emerald tiara(except the Vladimir with emerald drops) in the collection. It would be a magnificent parure! Do you think that there's a chance to see new tiaras created by future monarchs? Or they "have enough" and tiaras seem to go out of fashion ... |

You know, the Delhi Durbar tiara used to have huge emeralds spikes on top! It was a stunner--but, I have to say, I like it better the way it is--it is a delicate looking piece and the emeralds just weighed it down!
I would also love to see another emerald tiara--I do love those cabochon drops on teh Vladmir! I don't think we'll see any new tiaras in the BRF for a while--which is OK with me because there are SOOOO many we haven't seen in decades--those Royals are so insensitive to our needs!!!

We should send them a copy of the discussions on this board, maybe that will motivate them better!
![]() It's so odd that the Queen Mother had worn the pearl and diamond necklace of Queen Alexandra for decades, but never the Rundell tiara or the additional drops from the necklace. And actually it formed a parure. Do you think that Camilla will wear some major jewellery from QAlexandra, given the fact that her ancestor was a "certain" lady? |

Well, Queen Alexandra didn't seem to have a real problem with Alice Keppel because she called for Alice when the King was on his deathbed! Interesting, isn't it?
As for the Rundell--I don't have my reference sources handy right now but when Queen Alexandra died, Queen Mary and King George apparently met with the other children and divided up the jewels. THe Queen and King kept all pieces given in an official capacity, but I cannot for the life of me remember if they kept the Rundell--if they did not, then it passed onto some other child.

I have to say, I'd love to see Camilla in Queen Alexandra signature pieces.

Didn't the Queen attempt to get back any jewels that were given to Alice keppel??
I was under the impression that Queen Alexandra was not at all happy with the Alice keppel situation . Being tolerant and being excepting are two different things. I believe that Alice keppel was summoned to the King';s deathbed at the King's personal request and the Queen acquiesced. When the King finally passed away the Queen dismissed keppel from the room with disgust. As a matter of fact I believe that the Queen would make comments to her ladies-in-waiting about Keppel especially if she was seen out and about |

Charles bought Camilla a tiara of synthetic rubies and diamonds set in platinum that the King had bought for Alice Keppel. There are also some other pieces that Charles has given Camilla--and Camilla has worn the piece as a necklace. If you go to Magnolia's site, it is the fourth tiara down---

Guess it wouldnt be that appropiate to wear the Rundell tiara and the synthetic ruby necklace together, would it?

Does anyone know how long it's been in the family???? It is a very beautiful tiara i think. It looked great on Laura on her wedding day. Maybe the Duchess of Cornwall should wear it more often or has it now been given to Laura??? |

I think the Rundell would suit Camilla but her hair would need a little modification to make it work.

It does appear to have a wide circumfrence, and while a beautiful tiara, it looks like it sits uncomfortably on Queen Alexandra's head--but then again, she wore it often so maybe not.
Is it just me, or does it seem odd to anyone else that after about the 60's the Queen Mother only wore two tiaras? I would have thought she'd wear some others.....
