The Queen's brooches are fabulous. So unique and antique. And she looks so refreshing in that blue color, she seems to really be enjoying herself. Great pics.

The brooch the Queen wore yesterday 29th June at the Exibition:
As i have read in a book or a magazine before it said that Her Majesty may have more than 100 brooches.

I just got the new issue of Majesty, the one with the Queen wearing a pink suit with black buttons on the cover (Vo. 26, No. 7). On the cover she's shown wearing a brooch that has a small pink rose on the inside (it looks like a miniature possibly).

Does anyone know where that brooch came from? Is it possibly the Queen Mother's and a reference to the York Rose?

Yes it was the Queen Mother's. In my opinion it looks like a dimestore trinket.

I'm sure it's not! I've never heard of the Queen wearing costume jewelry -- has anybody?

With all she has at her disposal, why would she need to?

Maybe she just gets a whim, and there's nothing there that appeals?

I would have thought Diana had enough "good" stuff but she still got a little faux jewelry (me, I'm all faux!).

a pink rose in a green background? retangle frame? yeah it's from the Queen Mother. when QM passed away, the Queen wore that brooch in a tv speech. it's specially pointed out in the caption of the picture that the brooch was from the QM. but where the QM got it from i don't know

The brooch, which is known as the "Centenary Rose" was the Queens gift to her mother on her 100th birthday. The rose depicted is called "Queen Elizabeth" The description I read was "A pink Queen Elizabeth rose painted on an ivory ceramic disc and framed by brilliant cut diamonds" - Hardly a "Dimestore Trinket"!

How sweet. I wonder why the Queen picked that one out to where, maybe it was a reference to her parents' trip across Canada in 1939.

I thought it was pretty and different than most of the brooches the Queen wears, which is why it caught my eye.

I don't really know the name of the brooch, but i think Her Majesty has worn that one at the Trafalgar Ceremony on 28th June as well with the blue outfit. And anyone know is it also the same brooch that the Duchess of Cornwall wear at the Royal Ascot on the first day, they look quite the same, so i don't know if Her Majesty and The Duchess sharing the brooch?

I am most confidant that HM the Queen is wearing The Queen's Ivy leaf Brooch's.

The photo provided is from my own personal collection :) So please, ask to use it as any other way would be stealing!
