The Court Jeweller: This Week in Royal Jewels: July 4-10

More new (or unseen for some time) brooches for HM, when she wore this lovely turquoise and diamond brooch in Derby recently.

I may hate thistles in my flower beds - but love this brooch on HM.

Its a great brooch, very interesting to see it make an appearance. I would like to see it on a lighter background though.

Queen Elizabeth wore the "Greater" Nizam brooch yesterday when she held audiences at BP for
- the new Ambassador of Hungary, Peter Szabadhegy;
- Desmond Thompson, who received the first Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Queen's Medal; and
- the new High Commissioner for Singapore Foo Chi Hsia

HM used the top part of Queen Mary's emerald and diamond brooch yesterday when she visited the Tower.

Queen Elizabeth II shakes hands with the newly appointed High... News Photo 459647112 | Getty Images

Might HM have already used her new brooch (from the FEI Lifetime Achievement award) when she granted an audience to the new High Commissioner of Barbados at BP? Its difficult to tell from the pictures, it could just as well be one of the Nizam rose brooches.

The Nizam, I think - but I can't wait to see the FEI brooch. It did not look big in the box - but it means so much!

Is it possible that The Queen wore her FEI Lifetime achievement award today when she and The Duke recieved the King & Queen of Tonga?
If so, it would be funny, as in my country we have a celebration today closely connected to horses :)
