Day four - Ode to Saskatchewan

Today at Royal Ascot HM wore her recently acquired tourmaline brooch - a gift from the people of the province of Saskatchewan.

The brooch really show-up well on her fuchsia coat and the placement is spot on too. Clever to have it placed across the label like that.

No, it's not just you. I am actually starting to believe that half the sparkle in her jewels is the Queen herself.

Today is NOT actually the Irish Blossom - I was mistaken from the early photos. This is yet another new piece - a brooch by Bronte Porcelain

Excellent, this just gets better. Does anybody have a count of how many new brooches HM has pulled out in the last 2 years?

Here is my attempt at getting the list started:

> RHS brooch
> Brooch from Australia
> Pink Saskatchewan
> Emerald Sarpech
> Botswana brooch
> New rose brooch first seen in Paris
> Pearl Swans (at Ascot)
> Bronte Porcelain

Is the diamond Shamrock Brooch a new or old member of Her Majesty's never ending jewel chest?

I think we should call the Shamrock "recent".

The excellent From Her Majesty's Jewel Vault allows you to see brooches day by day. Links take you to known details. There are also two linked badge pages - for ornamental and badge brooches that give you and all inclusive look. That page is great when you are trying to decide is a brooch in a photo is A or B. Enjoy.

I have redone my list, and it is by no means exhaustive. Please feel free to add to it, or comment, as you may consider appropriate.

For some, I have provided links to the Her majesty's Jewel Vault blog, which has a lot of information.

> RHS Iris brooch
> Pink Saskatchewan brooch
> Emerald Sarpech
> Botswana brooch
> New rose brooch first seen in Paris (Multi-colour)
> Pearl Swans (at Ascot this year)
> Bronte Porcelain (in N Ireland this week)
> M&W Orchid brooch
> Irish Silver Spiral brooch
> Tudor Rose Brooch
> NZ Blue Pearl brooch
> The Gold Stag brooch
> Shamrock brooch
> BJA Jubilee brooch
> Triple Diamond Bar Brooch

Is that yet another new brooch HM wore when posing for the portrait by Harry Benson?

Apologies, I missed your post.

On reflection, I think I was referring to the NZ Blue Pearl brooch.

Good grief QE has a huge bust for a tiny lady. No wonder she has large brooches to distract the eyes higher up!
