Maybe she just gets a whim, and there's nothing there that appeals? I would have thought Diana had enough "good" stuff but she still got a little faux jewelry (me, I'm all faux!). |

a pink rose in a green background? retangle frame? yeah it's from the Queen Mother. when QM passed away, the Queen wore that brooch in a tv speech. it's specially pointed out in the caption of the picture that the brooch was from the QM. but where the QM got it from i don't know

The brooch, which is known as the "Centenary Rose" was the Queens gift to her mother on her 100th birthday. The rose depicted is called "Queen Elizabeth" The description I read was "A pink Queen Elizabeth rose painted on an ivory ceramic disc and framed by brilliant cut diamonds" - Hardly a "Dimestore Trinket"!

How sweet. I wonder why the Queen picked that one out to where, maybe it was a reference to her parents' trip across Canada in 1939. I thought it was pretty and different than most of the brooches the Queen wears, which is why it caught my eye. Last edited by Warren; 01-15-2009 at 03:56 AM. Reason: repeat |

I am most confidant that HM the Queen is wearing The Queen's Ivy leaf Brooch's. ![]() The photo provided is from my own personal collection :) So please, ask to use it as any other way would be stealing! "MII" Last edited by Margrethe II; 11-26-2005 at 06:53 AM. |

| Cartier Clips Here is a much better pic of HM wearing the Cartier Clips brooch in Malta yesterday. These aquamarine and diamond clips were given to the Queen in 1944 by her parents as an eighteenth-birthday present, and are a typically 1940s design, combining baguette, oval and round stones. source: The Jewels of Queen Elizabeth II by Leslie Field Pic: thanks to HMQEII, courtesy Terra |

Is HM wearing a 'new' (or not seen for a while) brooch? It looks Indian in design. Something from the vaults, or from her mother? pic courtesy GettyImages; thanks to fanletizia for posting it in the Sandringham Christmas thread. Indian-design brooch .

This link has a pic at the end of the page (after The Queen's Canalettos :)) of the Boucheron brooch which was a gift to Princess Elizabeth from her father. Thanks to Meg from the RJotWMB International Art Treasures Magazine; pic courtesy The Royal Collection Boucheron Aquamarine & Diamond Clips

I think it is a pitty The Queen rarely wears a brooch to complete her full parures. She usually wears family orders pinned on the garter sash attached with Queen Victoria's diamond bar brooch. Other brooches are seen when she wears a sash on her right side : usually a bow brooch (Queen Mary's Dorset bow or lover's knot). Queen Mary's complete diamons stomacher was first seen for a Jubilee dinner with other european monarchs (The smallest part of the brooch had been worn once for an official portrait of the Queen in the 50's). Queen Silvia wears brooches all the time, Margrethe end Beatrix too. Why not Lilibet ? |

The Queen has been wearing a lot of new broaches in the last year. She had a couple new ones when she visited Canada last year. And I noticed this one on her trip to Singapore. www.theroyalforums.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=233347&d=1142675741 I've never seen it before. She also wore a new one to Australia that looked to be amethyst, but no picture provided a closeup of the broach. Last edited by Elspeth; 02-02-2007 at 08:08 PM. The Brooch with a rose is a present from Canada and the so called diamonds mentioned above are in fact Rock Crystal. There is no evidence to suggest it has anything to do with the Queen Mother.
