I have always loved this tiara. Not over the top. Very simple yet elegant. It really does suit Queen Beatrix.

The picture was taken during HM's state visit to president Reagan. On her dress she wore the complete version of Queen Sophie's devant corsage:

Tonight Queen Beatrix has worn the pearl button tiara, a beautiful pearl necklace, and a pair of pearl and diamond earrings for the state banquet:

HM Queen Beatrix looks nice in the set of pearls chosen for the occasion.

I love this pearl set on Queen Beatrix, I think the luster of the pearl goes so lovely with her hair, and highlights her blue eyes...

Very beautiful pieces! Amethysts and pearls are a great combination, IMO.

Aren't these pieces from the Sapphire Parure? Source is Dutch Royal Jewels - the site lists and displays photographs of the majority of the Dutch Aroyal Collection.

I can't find this particular pendant on John's website (but considering it is a very complete website, I may have overlooked it). But esp. the pendant seems new to me. The sapphires from Quen Emma's sapphire parure and from Wilhelmina's sapphire parure all seem much larger. Also the cut seems to be more modern. I think HM hasn't been seen with the pendant until the last few years, so maybe it was a recent gift or buy?

They are not amethysts, they are sapphires. You can see the set here (pictures 14, 15, 16):

Beautiful pendant and earrings; I really like the teardrop shape. The diamond necklace is very dazzling as well. Thank you for the photos, dbarn.

It's the first time that we see Queen Beatrix with this large pendant! I must say: I really love the way she wears it.
