Princess Alexandra of Luxembourg Jewellery

This was the second time that Princess Alexandra wore the choker tiara. At the 2016 National Day Gala she wore the small version, without the upright pearls. Now wore it with the large pearls for the first time.

Imo the look was a bit harsh, as the tiara looks rather geometric with that slightly severe up-do. But all in all, it was a rather regal appearance and she carried herself well.

Yeah, I think the severe hair and the off-centre part were the biggest problems. This tiara needs a bit of hair poof to work.

Such a beautiful young lady. How wonderful to see her wearing one of her mother's grand tiaras for this state occasion.

:previous: She is one of the hidden jewels of the Grand Duchy and I am happy to see her accompany her father to Japan.

I hope she will eventually marry someone who is worthy of her!

I did not know much about her but for her first State Visit with her Father , she was perfect.
The Chaumet tiara was worn for the best with for the first time "a chignon"

I agree 100%. She is a very pretty young woman, and has shown great poise and confidence. Her parents must be very proud of her, and I hope there will be future opportunities for her to represent Luxembourg.

Anyone has an idea about thr multicoloured golden set? Is it new? Is it a family heirloom?

For national day gala, Alexandra is wear the aquamarine tiara for the first time. Very happy to see her wear that tiara. It is stunning.

Lovely to see her wearing the aquamarine tiara, it suits her well. I have been wondering for some time when the younger generation would start wearing it. Both of the grand duke's sisters have worn it, so we knew that this item was part of the pool of shared jewels. I hope to see it more often in the future.

Has Princess Alexandra used tiara on any other occasion?

It's definitely not my favourite tiara, but I love that she is debuting it. Let's hope that there will be clearer pictures soon.

Fun fact: this is the fourth time that this tiara is seen worn. And so far, none of the ladies wore it twice. It was worn by the GD, Tessy, Stéphanie, and now Alexandra.

I have to admit I like the way that HGD Stephanie wore it. The way it is just sort of plonked on the very top of Alexandra's head looks like she has her very own halo.

More interestingly, to me, it seems it is just a tiara and noticeably has nothing whatsoever in common with the rest of the parure. The style and elements are at complete odds and I can't help but feel that one on the tiaras in their vault used to be graced by gorgeous turquoises that were considered "passe" and replaced by something else.

Wow what a difference. Take away all the dark hair from and you can see it is almost like a starter parure. Even the earrings fit.

Now qwe can see that she also has some tuqiose point on her gown.

I still think that the turqiose tiara has a difficult shape.

I agree that the turquoise tiara has a difficult shape. It ends so abruptly and the sides flare out in a strange way, so it always looks so awkward when just put on the head. It needs to be worked into a bigger hairstyle in a way that fills up the ends a bit more. Imo, HGD Stephanie so far managed the best hairstyle for this tiara.

But I applaud Alexandra for giving different tiara a go. So far she has had 10 tiara events and has worn 5 different tiara. That is quite to my taste.
small floral tiara: 3
citrine bandeau: 2
Chaumet choker tiara: 3 (with and without the pearls)
aquamarine bandeau: 1
turquoise tiara: 1

And an interesting tidbit about the turquoise tiara: So far, it has been worn 4 times, and by 4 different ladies. None of them has yet repeated this jewel, so I'd say it is clearly not a favourite with the Lux royal ladies.

I agree, this is a tricky tiara to get right, and I am not sure I have seen it done quite right just yet.

I wish she would stop wearing her mothers gowns which make her look much older than she is....
