Today, I have some trubble to supload pics ( I'm not linked with my habitual server) but I think that the pearls wore by the Princess for the official portrait for the firht birthday of Leonor are news.

It's about three long ranks of pearls, if they are culture pearls, it's yet an expansive jewelles, if it's natural ones it's a fortune! May be it's a fantaisy collar mad with false pearls, but i'm not sure because they look very well with a very good "orient". If they are connoissors in this matter, which are their opinion?

I believe that they belong to the Royal Household. Because I have seen Cristina wear the flowered one also. In fact Cristina wore that one on her wedding day.

etizia doesn't has her own tiara like Mathilde, MetteMarit or Mary, I think. She borrow tiaras like other ladies from RH. Little pity.

So if she borrows them, than can she get to choose what she'd like to wear on a specific night? does it mean she can wear any other ones or she has the choice between only two? its intresting how this all works with the jewlery.

Is there any reason for why that is?

The Spanish ladies seem to work on a pool system. All of the tiaras are available to all of them with, I assume HM having first choice. Christina's preference seems to be the floral tiara and, of course, Elena wears the tiara from her husbands family.
Personally I would love to see Letizia wear the Mellerino Shell Tiara.

This somptuous set is componed of the earings, necklace and bracelet. I didn't succeed to know if it belong to the Princess as a wedding gift - exactly as the Niarchos 's rubies which are a Sofia's wedding gift- or if this set belong to the Queen or to the Spain Royal Family.

Hi, but I don't have yet my answer. Is this set of diamand jewelles belong in own to the Princess of Asturias as a wedding gift or is this set belong to the Queen by inheritance or gift or to Spain Royal Family.

I'm asking that because I didn't see the Qeen or the Infantas wore this pieces of jewellery - I'm not totally sure of that- Plus, I find the work of this pieces very "contemporary" it's the reason why I'm asking if this pieces belong in own to Letizia as a wedding gift , exactly as Sofia who received from Niarchos the extraordinary set of rubies.

On the fives tiaras wear bythe Queen, the Princess of Asturias, the Infantas ( except for Elena who wear since her wedding a Marichalar tiara) two belongs totally to the Queen, one by inheritance, the Prussian one wore by Sofia and Letizia for their wedding, one as a gift of Spain peolple for her wedding, the Flower one. The Mellerio one ( or Shells and Pearls) belong to Grand Mother of the King( I don't remember if it's a gift of Alfonso XIII but it's a Cartier's work of the 1920? about) belong to the Spain Royal Family as a "bijoux de passage" i.e. belong to the king for his wife, exactlu as the Fleur de Lys tiaras

The last one, wore recently by the Queen in Norway belong to the sister of the King the Infanta Pilar, but it seems that the King had baught to his sister this tiara too regal for the use that the Infanta Pilar , who has others tiaras smaller, can do it. It's the same for her daughter Simotta Gomez Acebo or her daughters in law.

For the Mellerio tiaria, we can observed that the Infanta Margaritha wore it for the gala diner for the president of Portugal, as a loan of the King.

It's true that with the Princess of Asturias the Spain Royal family should need an other tiara for better turn over! I'm serious.

Created by the French jewellery firm Mellerio and commissioned in 1867 by Queen Isabel II as a wedding gift for her daughter Maria Isabel when she married Prince Gaetano of Bourbon-Two Sicilis in 1868. Infanta Isabel left this tiara to her nephew, King Alfoso XIII. Tiarat wasn't seen until 1962 - Juan, the Count of Barcelona, gave this tiara to Princess Sophia of Greece for her marriage to his son, the future King.

BTW. They could and still can buy some here

Sorry, I was doing a confusion between the mellerio one , i.e the shells and pearls one mad by Mellerio a french jewelles designer and the taira said " Morone" wore by the Queen for the danish wedding.

This tiaria was mad by Cartier in pure style 1920, at the begening with emaralds, now with very big and somptuous pearls.

The countess Morone, daughter of the Queen Ena who had inherited this tiara gave it to the King for that superb piece of jewelles stay in the "Bijoox de passage" or " Queen to Queen".

If we are doing a due count or the Spainish tiaras, we can classified three very regal: " Fleur de Lys", " Morone" and the last one which belong to the Infanta Pilar. All the three tiaras correspond very much to the rak of Queen.

The three others: the " prussian" one, the "Mellerio" one and the "Flower" one, more lighter correspond more to the rank of Princess of Asturias or Infantas ( in my opinion....)

Marone diamond and pearl tiara in a spiral design made by Cartier. The first owner was Queen Victoria Eugénie (Ena). The Queen inherted some emeralds from her godmother, the french Empress Eugénie, sometimes she replaced the pearls of this tiara by those emeralds. Ena left it to daughter Maria Christina and she to Juan Carlos.

Letizia seems to be a fan of the long necklaces now. They look good on her and impeccably match her clothing.
