I had no idea it once belonged to the Empress Eugénie of France,it is a very beautiful tiara and goodness knows when we will see it again.

The thread about the Duchess of Alba Jewels has been merged with the this thread. So this is now the place to discuss all Spanish noble jewels.

Romanones emerald tiara

The stone in the Romanones necklace are of an amazing size and I love it as a necklace. But when worn as a tiara the single emerald prong should be taken off, it looks kind of ridiculous imho.

Medinaceli honeysuckle tiara

On the Foro Dinastias I found this picture of a bride with what looked like the tiara of the late Duchess of Medinaceli. http://postimg.org/image/97xy1sgif/
The text said that it was Flavia of Hohenlohe y Medina, sister of Marco of Hohenlohe.
But I always thought that this was a wedding pic of Flavia: http://postimg.org/image/o6s0sdrgt/

Can anyone here identify these two ladies? Which one is the real Flavia? And might the other bride be Sandra Schmidt-Polex, ex-wife of the new duke of Medinaceli?

Another bride wore this tiara in 2010:
Fabiola Arroyo Ozores y de Juan S¡erra García is a rather distant relative of the late Duchess of Medinaceli. If I understand it correctly a brother of her grandmother got married to the sister of the late duchess of Medinaceli.

The tiara is one of the rare case where I think that it would look better if it were smaller. It looks so overpowering, especially because the geometric design with it's clear lines looks somewhat cold and harsh.

This is the first time I read that the tiara is on the market again. The jeweller who owns it now is surprised that the children of Cayetana didn't shown an interest in buying it back. But really, if the late Duchess needed the money from the sale, where would the children find the money to buy it back? I don't know if there is inheritance tax in Spain, but I doubt that they can buy it back without selling other valuable heirlooms.

Imo the Ansorena pearl and diamond tiara is the most beautiful among the Alba tiaras. I am surprised that it was only worn by the late duchess' daughter Eugenia. It seems that non of the grandchildren were offered to borrow a tiara for their weddings, which is a pity because noadays there are no other occasions to wear tiaras in Spain.

I love both portions of this tiara but not together. Nevertheless, I find both portions of the tiara stunning and regal. Overall, I find this tiara too much.

The 2 tiaras together don't work well but as separate ones they look far more impressive.
