The Royal Order of Sartorial Splendor: Tiara Thursday: Princess Kako's Tiara

This tiara is absolutely stunning! It's regal, elegant, and classic. The necklace is also exquisite. This tiara is simply magnificent!

It is a shame...this family always looks like they are held hostage. Everything is so simple...the state dinners..the furniture...maybe it is a cultural thing, but they looked "forced" happy in their pics. The only time they seem genuinely happy is when they are out of the country.

The necklace belongs to the set of her wedding tiara. She wore it at Madeleine's wedding and you can see how it the necklace mirrors the tiara design.

picture cropped to less than 20%

I believe that the tiara which Princess Hisako of Takamado wore yesterday is the same which her sister-in-law Princess Yasuko of Mikasa wore at her wedding:

It is very much a "cultural thing" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_values
and I find the impression of dignity, grace and serenity, that this family gives, most refreshing

A better pic of Princess Yasuko of Mikasa with the pearl drop tiara. I still believe that this must be the same tiara which Princess Hisako of Takamdo wore at Carl Philp's wedding.

It's great that the Empress can now wear this beautiful tiara. It would have been a pity it the tiara were lost.

Princess Chichibu was the Emperor's aunt by marriage and had no children, so she left this jewel to her nephew. The Princess has been photographed with another tiara, a pearl drop tiara that looks similar to the tiara the Princess Takamado wore this year in Sweden. But it can't be the same, the details look quite different. I wonder what has happened to this tiara?

The Emperor had another childless uncle, the Prince of Takamatsu. His wife also has been seen with at least two different tiaras, but there is no trace of them.

Such a stunningly regal tiara. Simply exquisite design. One of my favorites in the family.

Its Their Tradition that their jewels mostly white(Source:Ella Kay's Blog,The Court Jeweller)

If you notice, it goes beyond jewelry: the closer a woman's husband is to the throne, the paler her dress. The Empress, Crown Princess and Princess Akishino all wear nothing but white/light cream evening dresses. Those royal ladies further from the main line get to wear colors. It's all very regimented.

Beautiful pearl tiaras. The ones I liked most is the Crown Princess Masako (pity didn't take part in the public) and Princess Hanako (the most beautiful tiara for me!)
