Well, in that photo the dress looks black, but that's the one.

I read somewhere that Princess Caroline had to use her Mother's jewels as security against funds owed by her late husband, Stefano Casiraghi. Since this time I have not seen her wearing any of her late Mother's jewels apart from the ruby and diamond pieces which make up the Salle de Bains tiara. I have seen her wearing her Grandmother's jewels however - notably the diamond fringe necklace, the diamond pendant earrings and the diamond and pearl tiara.

Caroline inherited $400 million when her father died. Before that, she had a huge trust fund that took care of her every need with a multi-million dollar income.
I doubt she needed to use her mother's jewels for anything, especially since Rainier would have taken care of any financial debts hanging over her head.

I read it in a biography of the Grimaldi family - I did think it strange, but we have had no sight of Princess Grace's jewellery since! apart from the rubies. There were all sorts of other things said in the book considering the nature of Stefano Casiraghi's business dealings - and with whom and also various claims regarding his grave etc and goings-on after the funeral.
I suppose until we have a statement from the "Pink Palace" in Monaco we will never know.

How did she get access to this piece? Is she good friends with the Grimaldis?

Yes I think she is. I don't know very much about the family, but the head of the House of Bourbon - Prince Charles & his wife Princess Camille are residents of Monaco. I don't know where Constance features in the family tree. I think I am right that the family are involved ( sponsors?) in the current exhibition at the Grimaldi forum which is about splendours of the Courts of Europe - there is a pamphlet about the royal house included in the exhibition brochure which leads me to this conclusion. I would be interested to know how recent this photo is.
Personally, I don't like seeing this tiara on anyone other than a Grimaldi's head - but perhaps it has been returned/sold back to Van Cleef

Princess Constance, wife of HRH Prince Charles (-Emmanuel) of Bourbon-Parma was the model for this set of VC&A diamonds.
The tiara has been owned by the jewellers for some years and is held in the Van Cleef & Arpels Private Collection.
This collection, like the Cartier Collection, occasionally goes on public display.

Thank you Warren. I have just looked on the Van Cleef website & have found some wonderful pics of both of the tiara / Grace's engagement ring & other goodies so it's worth pasting the link. ( if you select the tab "auction & vinatge" & then scroll down to "official tiara collection" you will find the diamond tiara)
Van Cleef
Van Cleef state the tiara is in their private collection, but firmly associate Grace's wearing of it. in their publicity ( no surprises here ). I am still curious to know how recent is the photo of Princess Constance, and also if any other members of a royal house, or indeed celebrity has been photographed wearing this tiara.

That lady in the photo looks similar to Caroline in her younger days but with blonde hair.

Stephanie has no interest in jewels, so Caroline has worn them. I'm sure Charlene will have plenty of new jewels to wear as Albert is a billionaire who can afford to buy her all the jewels she wants.

I used to think that it was odd, one daughter inherited jewels and the other did not. We really don’t know if this is the case. Princess Caroline does wear jewelry so we know what she might have inherited. But really there are few pictures of Princess Stephanie wearing jewels at all. I would be willing to believe that Princess Stephanie did inherit jewels from her mother; she just does not wear much jewelry. Look at photos from galas that she attends, minimal jewelry worn, if any. At past Red Cross Balls and Rose Balls she sometimes wore costume jewelry or modern pieces that were never seen again. Maybe these pieces were borrowed or gifts from her father. We probably will have to wait and see if her daughters Pauline and Camille ever wear their grandmother's jewelry, then it will be conformed that Princess Stephanie inherited some of her mother’s jewels.

Really, it looks like a necklace on a tiara frame.

Even more interesting that she left her jewels to her granddaughter's!

Charlotte didn't like Grace I think. She thought that Hollywood actress is not enough for Monaco.

Very sad. Her Dowry was certainly good enough! In making such a public gesture she did neither herself nor her son the heir and his future Princess, any good whatsoever. Every time we see Princess Caroline wearing her serious jewellery and Princess Charlene wearing little or nothing, we remember why. Petty jealousy. Not much of a heritage to leave the Principality, or the family.

I think one of the problems was that Prince Pierre did like Grace, and anything Pierre liked Charlotte disliked.
