Maybe she's making a statement that she wants the Queen to lend her another great big tiara.

Camilla is known for her headgear so I would love for her to start bringing back all the old tiaras that are just gathering dust. It would add a glamour affect and I would love to see more tiaras from the BRF collection.

"Lilibet, this is what you reduce me to when you don't lend me the Delhi Durbar!"

btw, speaking of seeing more BRF tiaras, QE2 pulled a lesser known gem out of the vault last night( i know she's worn it before but: hey, its not the empress maria feodorovna or the Girls of great britain and ireland so I'll take it!)

Maybe its the "Camilla affect"

Re:

I want to see Camilla in Queen Alexandra's Kokoshnik Tiara. I think it would really suit her. Or the George III Fringe Tiara. My favourite on her would be Queen Mary's Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara

don't hold your breath. the latter 2 are very closely associated with QE2 and I think they'll be really careful to avoid anything that makes Camilla look she might be the future queen (or something above Princess Consort when Charles takes the throne)

the Girls of GB and I is so wonderful though, its the perfect tiara. i'd love to see Camilla in it but I think its next wearer will be William's wife.

That is an even better reason to give it to Camilla. In order for Camilla to wear that Tiara the Queen would have to loan it to her. The Queen is doing as much as she can to get Camilla accepted as future Queen. The Queen knows how influental she is. The Queen will help greatly in getting Camilla accepted as future Queen Concort.

.
Why would a Tiara do that, it is the Queens visible acceptance of her that is changing the way most people think. I thought the tiara looked lovely and it must have been lighter than the Delhi Durbar.:)

Maybe her new tiara is a converted necklace? She does have some old family heirloom necklaces she inheirited. It seems like now a days princesses are found of converting their necklaces into tiaras, like Medeliene, mette-marit and Raina. I wish I could get a better look at it. :(

If you look at the photos on the previous page, you can I think, see that it is one she wore for her 1st wedding and is therefore probably a Shand heirloom.:)

Few things I need help with:

If you come from an aristocratic family with your own family tiaras, isn't there protocol as to when you stop wearing your own family's and start wearing the ones from your husband's family...assuming he has not personally given you one of your own.

Also, I do not think Camilla would were the tiara she wore on her wedding day to Andrew, now that she has remarried to Charles. :)

The girl has got some serious jewels to play with now, okay!?!?! :)

I do think she does need a larger tiara due simply to the kind of hairstyle she has...it is poofier and more layered and a smaller one kind of gets lost..

Maybe Camilla's hair does need changing for when she wears a tiara. She could always pop a viagra pill into her shampoo and she'd get a nice high hard bouffant Fabiola style! (When I say Fabiola Style, I am in fact flicking my head back, shaking 2 maracas and actually saying, "Fab-aye-olah! Style!")

Has Fabiola's hair moved since the 1960's??

Viagra.....you have a twisted mind, darling..but that is why I like you.

No. Its strange because Beatrix, Fabiola, and Anne's hair hasn't changed at all. Fabiola's could be a hat. In a thread on the Dutch board, someone said that there's a word in the Dutch dictionary describing the Queen's hair. Fabiola's is so strange - a vast dome with a flip out and curl up at the sides. I love it though.

I don't know about not wearing your tiaras if you're from a aristocratic family after you marry, after all, Diana didn't stop wearing her family tiara after she married Charles, actually she wore it more than the lover's knott tiara that the Queen loaned her.

I have no idea if Charles has bought Camilla a tiara, I would think he has since he's bought her quite a few pieces of jewelry already, like that snake necklace and the diasy chain necklace. And what ever happened to that? I thought that was suppose to be a tiara for her? I don't know, something I heard in one of the threads. I agree though that she does have a lot of jewels to play with, even though they might not be accessable right now. Doesn't the Queen still have to loan them out? Camilla can't just take them.

And I don't believe Camilla needs a larger tiara just cause of her hairstyle! I actually liked this smaller tiara on her.

Hmmmm, do you think Laura Parker-Bowles will wear the Shand tiara for her wedding? I guess we'll have to wait and see!

It would be nice if she did, her mum could lend it to her. :)

I would think you are allowed to wear any of the jewels/tiaras you had before you were married and then pass them on to your daughter or eldest son in your will.

Her mum was happily married though and if my mother lent me something as wonderful, I wouldn't want to hurt her feelings.:)
