I love the necklace- gorgeous and incredibly symbolic. I'm sure it will be a special keepsake from the tour.

I think it would look better without the diamond drop and with a different bail.
I would also suspend the pendant from the loop like this one http://www.markdefrates.com/images/tibkntlg.jpg

Thanks for the suggestion, but In really don't like the design.

It's not to my liking, but I think this is Catherine's first piece of jewelry from a foreign royal. She must felt very special and grateful to have received it from The Queen.

I do like the necklace design but I think the most important thing is to realize the significance of the Eternal Knot. It is one of the Eight Auspices in Buddhism and has meaning behind it.

The Auspicious or Endless Knot is a geometric diagram which symbolizes the
nature of reality where everything is interrelated and only exists as part of a web of karma and its effect. Having no beginning or end, it also represents the infinite wisdom of the Buddha, and the union of compassion and wisdom. Also, it represents the illusory character of time, and long life as it is endless.

I'd like to think that Queen Jetsun Pema presented this to Kate as a symbolic gesture that they have started a friendship that will only get stronger in time and also as a symbol of unity and common ground between the UK and Bhutan.

Exactly- it's not just a design, it's an important religious symbol with a deep and interesting philosophy behind it. A very thoughtful gift.

I think it's quite charming and while it's not my personal taste it's a very pretty piece...but the meaning of it and the fact it was a personal gift from the Queen of Bhutan make it more significant.

The Royal Order of Sartorial Splendor: Tiara Thursday: The Tiaras of the Duchess of Cambridge

Excluding her wedding tiara, I love all of these tiaras, with my favorite being the Cambridge tiara.

And then, in 2014, Monica hit the jackpot. The Duchess of Cambridge – who, let’s face it, isn’t short of jewellery options – wore the designer’s Riva collection earrings (£745) and necklace (£2,000) to an evening gala at the Natural History Museum.
‘I knew nothing about it as my press team had lent them to her people and they’d told them to tell no one else in the company,’ says Monica.

Unlikely to be borrowed as she has worn then c18 months apart.

That said, it is good to see her use modern pieces like this for engagements.

According to Order of Splendor the jewelery designed says the piece was a loan.

I doubt she would borrow it again. Very likely the set was purchased.

I agree; I'm sure it was a 'loan' to begin with. Natasha probably had it sent over to see if she would like it for the original event; happens with clothes all the time - once she wore it I am pretty sure it was purchased.

I also think there was a very specific message in her timing of wearing it again : she probably wanted to quash any rumours of the jewels being borrowed.
