Victoria at the Millennium celebration 31st December 1999, with amethysts also in her hair.

I love how the Swedish royal women use gems in their hair, and that amethyst necklace/pendant is absolutely massive. Just beautiful

Victoria today at the state visit from Turkey, wearing the brooch she got from princess Lilian and prince Bertil. She wore it also on her engagement day.

A nice gesture to wear a jewel in remembrance of both Bertil and Lilian. I can't quite make out the gems; are there pearls and diamonds?

Yes that was a lovely and poignant touch by Crown Princess Victoria.

Here's a HQ of it from Victoria's engagement day. Click the photo.

Indeed, it's a very lovely and poignant gesture from Victoria.
There are real diamonds: the brooch consists of five round diamonds with a smaller round diamond in the middle. There are small stones in between the five larger ones.

Victoria at the gala dinner of the turkish State visit with the small cut steel tiara with a haircomb, diamond earrings and the brooch she got from Lilian and Bertil. This tiara was an excellent choice to this event during this sad time. I'm glad that she chose it because it is one of my favourite tiaras.

That's not a tiara I really like, but I agree that it was an appropriate choice during this period of mourning.

And thank you, Artemisia, for the explanation about the brooch and LadyFinn for the close-up photo.

Very appropriate jewels worn by Victoria today! The smaller cut-steel tiara and haircomb looks lovely today - much better then the previous outings, the hairstyle suits the tiara much better this time. And such a nice gesture to wear that brooch

I like the tiara much better on this outing- the shape is really interesting and I think it flatters Victoria's face. I'm not sure I'd like the tiara on another person, but I do think it works for her.

And yes, her look was very, very appropriate to the circumstances.

Beautiful hairdo and jewels; love that line of pearl clusters in her hair.

Very nice earrings, but Victoria looks profoundly sad in that picture. She probably was very close to P Lilian,I hope she will find a good way to deal with her loss and overcome her sadness...
