It looks like the ring is made out of diamonds and rubies. In the above picture (with their wedding bands) it looks like the ring is made out of yellow gold but in all the pictures of Mette-Marit wearing the ring, it looks like silver or white gold. Hope this helps!:)

This was the picture I was referring too when I said her engagement ring is either silver or white gold.

It was given to Queen Sonja by the King for her 60th birthday, IIRC. The Queen wore it a few times, most notably during the Belgian state visit to Norway in 97 & to the Berleburg wedding in 98. MM has also worn it on a few ocassions, most notably at the Danish wedding last year.

The jewels she will be able to wear when she is queen will shine magnificently on her. She has done such a lovely job as Crown Princess and looks so comfortable and regal in her jewels for foreign visits and state occasions.

It seems its matching earrings and a ring. She has not worn them before.
Wonder what kind of stone it is, I dont think they are diamonds considering

Launa you're English is not bad:), the stones look almost clear to me but I don't think they are diamonds either because they are so big but I could see some lilac in there.

Her earrings do look a little like these but the color in the center stones aren't so strong.

It seems she has a new ring, and it does not look like she is wearing her wedding and engagement ring this ring looks more like a diamond ring and nothing like her gold and ruby engagement ring. She looks a little bloated in the face so maybe she has still some water in her body, I remember she removed the rings in the end when she was pregnant with Ingrid

During pregnancy some women can experience bloating or swelling in their hands, fingers, feet, ankles, wrists, etc. It happens a lot at the beginning of pregnancy and towards the end. I had a friend that experienced so much bloating towards the end of her pregnancy that she couldn't wear any of her rings. I guess that Mette-Marit could have experienced the same thing during her pregnancy and that may be why Larzen gave her pregnancy a a reason for the rings being removed.

Yes thats what I mean, when she was in Russia and 6 or 7 moths pregnant with Ingrid she did not wear her engagement ring and she wore her wedding ring on smalest finger (pinky finger is that what its called??)

MM doesn't seem to have much in the way of royal jewels- for a crown princess. I think I've got nicer jewelry than she does. Can someone drop a hint to H.

If you read the thread she has 3 tiaras
Her wedding tiara
The amethyst parue
The vifte tiara, so far only worn as a necklace (very old)

She also has a 3 string pearl choker Haakon has given her, 2 pearl bracelets, the amethysts and aquamarine earrings and the earrings after CP Märtha, and some brooches and smaller earrings. She has alos worn theese very old diamond necklaces after Queen Maud. Besides she does not seem to be much of a jewellery person like Mary and Maxima, she rarely wears necklaces. She has the same or more jewellery as Mathilde and Letizia

But SOnja could lend her something else, she is not very roundhanded, she could also led her daughter soemthing bigger
