Does anyone know the history of the jewelry (earrings and brooch) she wore for the September opening of Parliament?
If anyone is interested in Maxima-sized pearls for a decent price I recently bought some from a catalog www.ross-simons.com. I have double pearl drops (item 099965 PST 4Y) like she is wearing w/the red dress in the 12/5 post in this forum (another event she wore them was when she gave long speech in Dutch, wearing green/gold wrap top.) Also big pearl necklace like she wore for Prince Claus' funeral (#102460) - mine were only $100 and look very regal!
I'm not trying to advertise for this company, just trying to be helpful to other pearl-loving royalty watchers!

The brooch & earrings belong to the Melliero Ruby Parure which was bought by King Willem III for his second wife Queen Emma (born Princess of Waldeck-Pyrmont).
more info on danjel's site:
http://groups.msn.com/RoyaltyDanjel2...mondrubyw.msnw
btw the brooch can also be worn as part of a necklace (as you can see on a picture with Queen Juliana (the ruby parure was one of her favourites)

She should wear the tiara with the huge Stuart Diamond in it, at the dayt she becomes queen. I think it will look great on her. Queen Beatrix never wore the tiara. I think the queen thinks that the tiara is too big for her :P but Juliana wore frequently.

The tiaras she wears are not hers. It belonged a long time ago to the family at it still does, but Queen Beatrix put them in a special foundation to preserve these precious jewelry. like the bernadottes have. So everyone in the royal family can use them. Princess Maxima has worn like 3 or 4 different tiaras. She´s very good at wearing tiaras, or making them, because, she used pieces of pearl tiaras on diamond tiaras, like the one at the Swiss Statevisit, and her wedding star tiara is also a combined tiara. The stars are brooches,(the brooches Beatrix wore at Prinsjesdag) and she put the stars on a diamond frame. And that´s how we see new tiaras.

Oh Im so glad someone agree, I think the star tiara looks like a barbie tiara that can be bought in any toy store, and the curls she was sporting in Märthas wedding did not help on the barbie look. I dont like the one with the pearls either, but it is not as bad as the star tiara. I love the one she wore in Haakons wedding, and the hairstyle and makeup was so perfect that day, I dont think it has ever been that good since.
She har also worn a necklace as a tiara:

My my Maxima seems to really like pointy tiaras! I think they are beautiful, although I don't think I'm a huge fan of the pearl one. What tiara did she wear at her wedding? Was it one of the four posted above?

I believe that the stars on her wedding tiara have the same size, while these have not. In total the dutch RF owns 10 diamond stars (I was told so by a poster on the glittering royal events MB), 5 of them were a gift from Princess Marie zu Wied (daughter of Prince Frederik of The Netherlands & sister of Queen Lovisa of Sweden & Norway) to her cousin Queen Wilhelmina.
I believe that Maxima has worn the diamond bracelet before (during her wedding & the pre-wedding gala).

I think that these can very well be the same brooches. The 8-legged stars are slightly growing towards the center of the tiara, as can be seen on the pic below (from Danjel's site and originally from Polfoto. Thanks for all of you ). Maxima is also wearing the large 12-legged star brooch pinning the sash on place. The same brooch can also be seen as part of the "star constellation" on the other picture.

I think we have to wait untill she's a queen.
i think that the historical jewels belong to a queen, and not to a princess. We don't see large necklaces anymore e since we have queen Beatrix. She thinks that she doesn't has the right neck to wear grand necklaces....
