Count Lennart and countess Sonja were chosen as the "Swedes Worldwide" in 1991.
Motivation:
"Lennart and Sonja Bernadotte receive the honorary title because, with their great cultural contribution at Mainau, they connected the Swedish name with a high-quality institution that brought joy and inspiration to hundreds of thousands of people."
Swedes Worldwide is an independent, non-profit organisation founded in 1938.
