throughout my experience with servers i've learned that a wellplaced physical ehh .... impact .... sometimes is the only language a moody server understands.

Yes, the picture of the month poll was delayed until people could get access for long enough to post it. Now we have the new server, it should be going up soon. We do have all the pictures in; it's just a matter of setting the poll up and posting it.

Secondly, may I ask, when can we make new threads?
I managed to start a thread today, so it should be possible. Have another go, and let us know if you still can't do it.

It seems that it still isn't possible to go to the first unread post by clicking the respective button. I always end up at the first post of a thread.

I tried three times Elspeth, and it still wouldn't work
Maybe there's something wrong with certain sub-forums and they won't allow new threads to be made?

The same problem happened to me. I cannot start a new thread even when trying several times.

Purple_Platinum, could you try to start a "this is a test" thread in the British forum? I've just done that and had no problems.

Andy, there's something weird going on with this business of starting threads. I managed to start threads with titles like "Testing" and "Test thread" with no problem, but I've just tried to start an "HSH Prince Albert Current Events part 20" in the Monaco forum and it wouldn't let me. So I started the thread with the provisional title "Testing" and it was fine. When I used the Edit function to change the title to the above long title, it wouldn't let me. So I changed the title to Albert. Fine. Changed it to Albert part 20. Fine. Changed it to Albert Current Events part 20. Fine. Changed it to HSH Prince Albert Current Events part 20. It wouldn't let me do it. Figured that maybe it was getting upset about the thread length so I tried Prince Albert Current Events part 20. Wouldn't let me do it. So I tried Prince Current Events part 20 (same number of characters as Albert Current Events part 20). Wouldn't let me do it. Went back to Albert Current Events part 20. Fine. Decided to declare victory and back out slowly.

It appears that the problem has to do with the words Prince, Princess, and Queen in titles. Those are the words that cause this error as far as I can tell from experimenting with different titles.

What was the title of the thread you were trying to open? So far I'm finding it impossible to start threads whose titles contain the words Prince, Princess, or Queen, but most of the rest of the time I'm not having a problem.

Apparently we have a republican server.

Elspeth, i tried opening up a new thread without including "Crown Prince & Crown Princess" over at the Belgian forum, and it worked! Finally..
Then, i changed the title into "Crown Prince Philippe & Crown Princess Mathilde" and it also worked!

thanks for that!

You're welcome. I still can't get it to accept the words "prince" or "princess." "Pince" and "Prrince" are fine but not "Prince," anywhere in the title, even after "Crown." Weird.

I had the same problem as you Elspeth, I tried to put 'Lindy Rama, Princess of Bali', but it wouldn't let me make the thread, so I tried 'Lindy Rama of Bali', and it worked! Like you said, we must have a republican server

PS. I know I said this in my earlier post but I'll say it again: Thank you Andy for all your hard and terrific work!!!!
