Well, all I can say is that if this job has stopped you posting here for eight months, you need a different job.

Oh no, I love it! I'm now a pampered bureaucrat on the 10th floor of our Central Office!

I'll see what I can do to stroll around here a bit more often. I did miss the forum and the great community of people that are constantly joining in. It's my favorite place to catch up royal news as they happen.
Good night!

ps. I love the new smilies!

Indeed! Did I tell you, Countess I'm a (Jack) Mormon as well??

I like the parameters of this forum and I like the topics. I especially like it that it's Modded. And Modded quite well! This way it treats every one as fairly as possible. And that means the Mods and Admins really care about their forum and keeping it in tact. It's a nice refreshing change because it DOES get heated at the other forums I visit.

acdc1, sometimes I just can't handle the forum. Not that there's anything wrong with the forum, but I get very depressed sometimes, and just don't feel like participating.

And I do get a little bored sometimes, with the royals. Of course, my main interest is European royals, and the younger ones just don't seem as interesting to me. I have grown so weary of the Grimaldis, can't stand to debate when William will propose to Kate, and don't much care about the York girls. So I don't know what to do with myself. And although I still adore Diana, there doesn't seem to be much left to say for now.

I guess I'm suffering from growing pains!!

What is a "Jack Mormon"? Never heard that expression. Sorry, that some cannot extend civility and yet get their point accross. So much of debate today ends in angry states and, yet, it is only through debate and open forums can we learn what the next person is about.

It means I believe in the Book of Mormon and that Thomas S. Monson is our prophet on Earth, but I sure like my Diet Pepsi and my Rum and cokes!

Debate is good when you have mature debaters and they follow rules. Otherwise it gets out of hand awfully quick and I believe that's what Elspeth and the rest of our mods are concerned about so they just don't allow it.
Which is fine. I'm definitely okay with that.

IowaBelle--you have saddened me to no end
I believe if you cruise on over to the Royal Jewels site (especially The Worst Royal Jewels threads) you will soon be laughing so hard that depression will just fly out of the window!

Thank you for the explanation. I had never heard the term. I am guessing that the "Jack" might refer to "Jack Daniels".

Yes, of course, maturity is the key to having an intelligent debate. No one wants to debate a child. One might hope that when an intelligent debate starts the "children" will step aside.

Nope, not Jack Daniels. This is more a true definition:
The term Jack Mormon is a slang term that originated in the nineteenth century. It was originally used to describe somebody who was not a baptized member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (or LDS Church), but who was friendly to Church members and Mormonism, sympathized with them, and/or took an active interest in their belief system. In today's Mormon culture, the term "dry-Mormon" is its equivalent. Sometime in the early to mid twentieth century, the term changed culturally to refer to someone deemed by LDS adherents to be an inactive or lapsed member of the LDS Church who maintained good relations with and positive feelings toward the LDS church.

I am baptized in the church. I just don't go.
Mr. Russo's Catholic. We go to his church.
