In anticipation of the birth of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's first child, the royal community
- spearheaded by five blogs - have banded together in a charitable initiative called
the "
Baby Cambridge Fundraiser."

The Duchess of Cambridge is Royal Patron to East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH), a charity that provides exceptional care to children and families with life-threatening conditions. This year they
must raise £5.75 million ($8.7 million) from public donations to deliver services.
The fundraising team has chosen to support this very important cause.

Members can donate to the Baby Cambridge Fundraiser through the JustGiving page:

To spice things up, many fashion brands which Kate Middleton has worn have generously donated items which will be rolled out in prizes to be won over the coming weeks. For royal watchers, fashion enthusiasts and beyond, it is a very exciting and unprecedented endeavor.

The following blogs are spearheading this initiative:

Duchess Kate (http://hrhduchesskate.blogspot.com)
What Kate Wore (http://WhatKateWore.com)
Kate Middleton Style (http://KateMiddletonStyle.org)
British Royals (http://britishroyals.info)
A Petite Princess (http://apetiteprincess.com)

These and other supporters can be found on the Meet the Team page.

The Baby Cambridge Fundraiser lauches on 29 April 2013 -- for William and Catherine's second wedding anniversary,
and to coincide with Children's Hospice Week. It will run through 31 August 2013.

This fundraising project is carried out with the knowledge and approval of EACH.

EACH has been chosen becasue it is a cause very close to The Duchess of Cambridge's heart. She has been EACH's Royal Patron since January 2012 and delivered her very first speech when she opened their TreeHouse Hospice in Ipswich.

All the funds raised from the Baby Cambridge Fundraiser will be donated to EACH in recognition of the care they provide young patients and the support offered for family members of those children.

East Anglia's Children’s Hospices must raise £5.75 million ($8.7 million) from public donations to deliver services this year. This amounts to more than £15,000 ($23,000) a day, every day of the year.

Services through EACH are offered in three hospice locations in England and include day care in the patient’s family home or hospice, support for family members, various therapies and end of life care.
